Billy Preston: Most likely the next LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Watched it earlier today. Guy talks and looks like Young Lebron James.

This needs to be checked out. He is either LBJ's son, or is one of Lebron's father many offsprings.

I will say that he looks disappointed that he doesn't have a chance to meet and even play with Lebron.

Same feeling I get from Sexton...but more like Sexton is a winner at heart and wants to win, and Lebron would have given him this opportunity. I don't get a sense that Sexton will be fine with losing for long. Just from his interview on draft night, really seemed like he wanted to play with Lebron.

Jesus Christ Joe Vardon knows how to really get in there and dredge up all the shit this kid has talked about a million times instead of asking him questions about how he did in the game or anything related to what is going on right now. He spent 3 min discussing it and then he had to ask more followup shit. Like look at the kids face as he is going through all that stuff vs when he is asked about how he is liking playing out there after not playing for so long.

He wants to play basketball. Can you ask him about his game?

Cleveland reporters are trash. Sports journalism is bad as a whole...but Cleveland man, they are on a different level.

I cant stand how Vardon does this crap. He always has to ask some cringe worthy bullshit trying to stir up drama or headlines. I get it's part of the business but you're right, ask some good basketball questions for once.

As for Preston I really like his potential, I'd almost rather just sign him to a regular NBA contract than a 2-way contract so that he can spend more time with the team - I've seen enough, get him with the guys. From what I've read the max time he can spend with the actual Cavs is 45 days in a 2-way contract.

I think right now he needs to play as much as possible. Sitting on the bench is not going to help right now

Play in Canton, work on the weaknesses. Get a couple call ups to get a taste of what he is working for.
Pretty sure if he played at Kansas last year he would be a top 20 pick. Koby got a steal. A project, but a steal

I believe they can convert it to a regular contract, which they will do if he does well I think.

Yeah he needs reps for sure. He hasn't played in meaningful games in awhile and it is obvious. Just getting into the speed of the game and flow again will do a lot for him.

have watched Lebron for a decade and a half. I dont think that young players do well with Lebron

It will be nice when the LeBron and Kyrie and Blatt "what ifs?" no longer dominate this board.

WHO FUCKING CARES?!

WE ARE LIKELY NEVER GETTING ANY OF THEM BACK.

MOVE.

ON.

Well the problem is the two-way contract only allows 45 days with the NBA team and that includes travel, practices, etc.

He definitely can benefit from time in the G-league. But I hope by next year he is ready for a normal contract. He needs to play against NBA level athletes...but don't want to throw him into the fire too quickly.

45 days can be a lot if they time it up right. And I don't think he needs to be ready for a normal contract next year. Let him get two years in the G League if that's what it takes. No need to rush him. Cavs shouldn't be in a rush.

Oh absolutely. He can take all the time he needs, we can afford it. I just hope he's ready sooner rather than later. I'm a Cavs' scrubs stan.
