Billy Preston: Most likely the next LeBron James

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I cant stand how Vardon does this crap. He always has to ask some cringe worthy bullshit trying to stir up drama or headlines. I get it's part of the business but you're right, ask some good basketball questions for once.

As for Preston I really like his potential, I'd almost rather just sign him to a regular NBA contract than a 2-way contract so that he can spend more time with the team - I've seen enough, get him with the guys. From what I've read the max time he can spend with the actual Cavs is 45 days in a 2-way contract.
I totally agree about Vardon @Cavatt

His entire journalistic strategy is TMZ based. People tried to defend him this last year saying "he's starting to become a legitimate source of Cavs news," but I never bought that shit.

During the Cavs first two years when LBJ came back he started more shit rumors than anyone else around the Cavs.

Vardon is a piece of shit. His facial expressions during interviews remind me of a crack whore getting ready to blow someone for their next score. He is everything that is wrong with sports reporting.

I mean the worst part is he has no tact. There are good and bad ways to ask questions. He has a Larry David way of asking that is dripping with accusation.

he is Jim Acosta of Cleveland sports

I was wondering about Lebron's father, later in life?

Seems to good for 2way contract. He stands out with summer league. Do Cavs have any bird rights the year after a two way contract and can they sign him to a regular contract during the season?

He stands out with summer league.
Summer league doesn't mean shit.

Don't get me wrong, I hope the guy pans out and is as good (better) than he looks, but summer league is a pretty spurious metric. Jack Cooley looked good in summer league yet where did his 17 rebounds land him?

I get that completely. But he looks like he has a smooth shot and obviously is athletic enough to compete against nba players. You can’t say that about guys like Cooley or harangody or samardo samuels.

Not true. Summer league can tell you a lot.

For example, had he sucked ass all summer league, we would all declare him a likely bust.

At least we know that his 2-year 2-way contract is well justified. So, we learned something valuable from his good SL play.

I think we've generally done well in talent identification, but I have no idea what people see in this guy. Most summer league guys look hopeless, but he looks especially hopeless.

I think he looked alright today. He needs to work on rebounding better. There are times he looks like he has a easy rebound just to lose it out of bounds or have it go off his hands to someone else.

He just needs time to get use to playing basketball again. His shot has looked better as summer league has gone on. He needs to get use to the length and height of the NBA. I think he is more a SF than a PF. He has the quickness and ball handling to be a SF while doesn't seem to have the rebounding or strength of a PF, maybe that will come as he gets into NBA strength and conditioning.
