Browns rant thread.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our list of needs:

1. A coach that isn't completely fucking inept.
2. Solid QB play. I assume the draft will address this.
3. Coleman to stay healthy, plus adding another WR (could be Gordon; not counting on that).
4. A better secondary.
5. More general defensive depth.
6. A RB to replace Crowell. I like Duke a lot, but I don't think he's a workhorse back.

As far as six goes, I'd like to see us use Duke and our other back (be it Hyde or someone we draft) interchangeably rather than putting Duke out there solely as the satellite back. I'd also shift Duke to a receiver role from time to time since he's proven he can do that.

I think just addressing the first two and having Coleman stay healthy for a whole season (and/or Gordon playing well) would go a long way toward making this team at least respectable.

We should do what NE does at RB. Duke Johnson would be an MVP candidate if he was playing in NE.

I'm with @Los216 on this one.

The Browns suck but this simpleton mindset of just pointing to the record and yelling is dumb. The Browns still suck but they are in a MUCH better place than last year.

I mean, fuck. We have a legit superstar franchise cornerstone DE, and we are about to finally have the #1 pick in a draft with a worthy #1 overall QB who's biggest red flag is that some people think he's a dick.

I'll keep saying it and I don't mind that I keep getting laughed at...

0-11 (and probably 0-16) be damned. The. Browns. Are. Not. That. Far. Off.

I don’t call that much better off. I call it ... slightly better off, in position to possibly maybe be much better off once that QB is on the roster and shows he can be The Guy. Which is still at least a year away, probably further, assuming they even make the right selections.

But hey, we all need a carrot on a stick and it’s not like I’m going to stop hoping this team gets turned around. So I’ll take that little candle light at the end of the proverbial tunnel.

I think it'll get turned around in the near future.

But it's not going to likely be with Hue as head coach.

Look no further than what happened at Tennessee yesterday if you're wondering why this franchise still sucks.

I was talking with a few friends last night and we all came to the conclusion that the NFL needs to implement a new rule.

If you're picking in the top 10 of the draft? You are flat out, banned from trading down. It's time to start treating the top 5/top 10 like how the NBA treats lottery picks. Make them "protected" in some manner. Because what we flat out gave Philly was likely a Super Bowl appearance in the near future.

Or we could just not be a dumpster fire of a franchise? Though I do wonder at what point the NFL seizes the Browns and gets them back on track itself since nobody else seems to be able to do it.

Man dude pass that shit, or at least give me the name of your dealer.

No the league shouldnt have that rule and while missing on wentz sucks, so does missing on every questionable player that turned into a pro bowler.

Also thst single draft pick will end up becoming something like 10 picks including 3 first rounders and 2 second rounders. Just accept it the browns hit the reset button and used the 2nd overall pick as the start to rebuild the team.

Bullshit. We fucked up. That pick wasn’t the “reset” button. This piece of shit franchise hasn’t been worth a damn I’m over 10 years.
I fucking hate this team and this goddamn curse that was put on me to be a Browns fan. Fuck Jimmy, Fuck Sashi and even though I still like and believe in Hue, fuck him too!

There's situations where a trade down/massive trade is warranted.

I think, for example if the 1999 Browns would have taken what Mike Ditka was offering in 1999 for Ricky Williams? That would have been a good move. This is considering how badly the NFL dicked them over expansion draft wise among other things.

I think that what we saw in 2009, 2011, 2014, and 2016 have been "mistakes". It's far better to take the "blue chippers" you can nab there than it would be to pretend you're the New England Patriots, then outsmart the rest of the rest of the league.
