Carmelo Anthony

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Would you like Melo on this team if you didn't have to trade Love?

  • Yes

  • No

  • Depends on who we have to trade (really?)

Trading Love for Melo we get a worse rebounder, older, less efficient scoring, ball stopping. How does this at all work out in our favor?

The one concern I would have is the ball stopping when it gets to him; and that's not something I think can be easily fixed. But, considering how we play, if he goes more towards spot-up/catch-and-shoot or just a few steps/dribble-drive or finding an open look or pass then we're good. It's, not a lot to ask from a former superstar.

People claim that LBJ and Melo would be redundant but one part of Melo's game that LBJ can't touch (or really anyone in the league for that matter) is his mid-range. You could run some interesting sets with Melo getting the ball at the elbow with LBJ backdoor cutting to the rim all over the place.

Forgetting someone? ;)

We wouldn't have to trade Love, hypothetically.

I'm glad we fired this up so it never happens. I don't want his fat selfish ass on this team.

So we need more mid range shots is what you are saying? If the Cavs are going to break the bank it has to be for defense and playmaker.. I don't want more iso Offense! enough is enough. You wanna take more shots out of Love and Kyrie?

It doesn't.

I don't think anyone is talking about trading Kevin Love for Carmelo. I don't even think that's remotely a possibility.

If I had to guess, the only guys we'd trade Love for are Butler and PG-13.

Adding Melo is going to do that regardless and for the record, i am not a big fan of the idea of adding him but on the offensive side of the ball, a lineup of Irving-Smith-Melo-Lebron-Love should be un-guardable. Unfortunately that's assuming Lue can figure out what to do with it.

If 'only Melo could defend, I might put up with his ball-stopping ways to have him, but he's atrocious on that end.

A starting lineup involving 'Melo, Love, and Irving I think is the worst defensive unit in the league.

I'll take him for our scraps and if he comes off the bench, He can be our Iguodala without the passing or the defense or the high basketball IQ

Melo is dishing out 3.1 APG pretty consistently, regardless of who he's playing alongside; for a guy who is known to be a "ball-stopper." He's also shooting a decent.438/.372/.835 with 6 RPG and only 2 TOV. He's putting up 22.7 PPG in 33.6 MPG.

If we're not moving a core piece; essentially one of our main starters; this is a no-brainer.

The only reason we're even talking about this is because Anthony has a no-trade clause.

I don't think it's unguardable.. unless Love starts to set picks like a man. Big part of an nba offense is setting good picks, Love and Lebron will have to be much more physical for that to work or you are going to see a lot of Iso ball.
