Cavs close to multiple trades? (Hoopsworld Speculation)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sorry...been used to caviar.....all these hambugers sound ok .....just not what we are used to

Mo, Shaq for Marving, Teague, Childress, and Zaza?

I dont want to trade Mo unless Smith is involved. I like Childress but not a fan of Williams

Gibson, Jamison, and Parker are all good shooters if they remain on the team.

We just lost on of the best, most talented players in the modern era. Any rebuild/reload we do is not going to be perfect and is going to seem like a letdown from the expectations of the past 4-5 years

problem: NO SHOOTERS :thumbdown

thats why i hate the deal

Throw in Teague and sign me up.

Mo/Shaq is not worth Smith. Be realistic people. Mo is worth Williams and Teague.

Marvin Williams is a guy who needs a change. Hes only 24.

This! Living down here in North Carolina, this kid was the real deal in college. If he'd have stayed another year he could have been the top pick of the draft. I think Marvin's problem was Mike Woodson. That guy was too much like Mike Brown, so I could see it stunting William's growth as a player.

I would rather have Mo than getting Josh Childress, unless it included josh Smith. If we got smith, what do we do with JJ? I would rather acquire Josh Smith and use him in anohter trade to be honest

God damnit no Bibby!!!!

Can someone post some career stats and informantion on Marvin, Teague, Childress?

Marvin:

2009-2010 - 10.1 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 1.1 apg, .89 topg, .81 spg, .57 bpg, 45.5%(30.3%), 81.9%

i mean in the starting lineup. and i dont want to trade Mo unless Josh Smith is in the deal. if they arent willing to give up Smith, we shouldnt give up Mo. we could get better than Marvin Williams for him.

ahhh viewing our players through rose-colored glasses

Throw in a first round pick and I'd make that trade. Gets us out from underneath Williams' contract and adds another pick that we could possibly move for someone like Collison. Throw in a young talent like Teague and I'd really be up for that deal.

My problem with Jefferson is that he's too small for center, but too slow for power forward. He's a tweener, that while great on the offensive end, is worse than Shaq on the defensive end because he lacks the size necessary to guard post players, and the foot speed necessary to do anything on the pick and rolls. He's a fine complementary guy, but I don't want us to be in a position where we're building around him.

I too live in NC and Jeff Teague has exponential talent would love to have this kid grow in to an all star in Cleveland...

I feel the same as you about Marvin, he has a lot of potential and has shown flashes of a solid starter in the league. One word Consistency (as in he is lacking)

Re: Cavs close to mutiple trades?

Please God no. The Cavs must re-build......Dan needs to get his head out of the clouds.

Really? So you prefer the Cavs to suck for 5 years............ Pray the ping ball ball bounce our way and then pray some more that our top picks turn in to studs... ? I'd prefer to see what magic Gilbert can do with his billions of dollars than follow the same path the Cleveland Browns were on the past 10 years..

No thanks to trading Mo for Marv and/or Childress.

I would sign and trade Shaq for either of them though even though neither excites me.

This isn't baseball. There is a soft cap and perhaps even a hard cap in the future.

You build a young core THEN spend. Spending first is a mistake.

Yeah, I do, because it's nearly impossible to built a title team in the City of Cleveland otherwise.

I want an NBA championship, I want a team that will legitimately compete.

The teams in the worst positions in the NBA are the teams that have a giant payroll, no elite talent, and win between 35 and 45 games. That is the worst place to be as an NBA franchise and we are bulldozing our way towards that very goal if we plan on trying to "compete".

I would rather watch a young exciting team of flawed young players win 20 games than watch a veteran squad 8 million dollars into the luxury tax win 43 games. Sure, you might get to watch a few home playoff games otherwise, but when the next season after that you're not going to improve to a contender while that 20 win team has a chance to add a player that could turn the team into a contender for years.

Sure, it's a risk, but isn't that what we're supposed to be about as a basketball team? Taking calculated risks to try and maximize our ceiling for the future?

Shaq and Mo for Marvin, Teague, and Childress is at least worth considering. I don't know if Williams can live up to his contract though. I'd like Teague..talented combo guard type.
