Minnesota does want some veterans on this team, i'd like to swap Baron and #4 for #2. I dont think Minny will take Sessions back and them getting Hickson really wouldnt make sense for them

Also can someone switch the title name to Cavs draft/trade rumors

Sessions is out of the picture, wouldn't even mention him.

Hickson is a PF/undersized C whom I don't think would fit next to Love.

Baron Davis would be all sorts of craziness from Minnesota's perspective.

Think Chad is throwing stuff against the wall, IMO.

I can't help but feel that JJ + #4 is overpaying for #2. And I can't see Sessions and/or Davis + #4 getting it done (heck, I don't know if JJ would get it done since they have Love/Beasley already, but they could use him as a 6th man or trade asset).

I believe the Cavs best shot at #2 is that Minnesota doesn't find an offer they like, they draft Williams and we draft who they want (Kanter/Valanciunas?), and then we swap rights to these guys after the picks are selected. We could throw in the #32 and cash or something at that point. EDIT: I agree with others, that a 3 team deal could be a slight possibility as well (even though the Cavs have a history of these, I never bank on them).

I personally feel J.J. + #4 for #2 is too much. Giving up a young player who showed potential down the stretch for an unknown player who we don't even know if they will play PF or SF is too much.

I also can't see Minnesota trading for Ramon Sessions since last year they traded him to us for a Delonte West buy-out. I think it would just make Kahn look bad and he wouldn't want to admit he was wrong in trading away Ramon Sessions.

The only way I see us getting the #2 pick is if we get a 3rd team involved or Minnesota falls in love with Verajao. Even Verajao seems like an awful lot to move up two spots.

If Minnesota is looking for veteran leadership then maybe we could trade for AI2 and then flip him to Minnesota for some bad contracts and the #2 pick. Keeping the #4 pick.

Only thing that I see this opening up is a 3rd team eyeing one of those players/assest and helps us out with getting the 2nd pick. We do not match up well with Minny unless Andy's name is thrown in there, which I doubt will happen. But what do I know

-Why would MN take Sessions back??
-Hickson is unnecessary when they already have Love at PF.
-Why would they take Baron when Rubio is finally coming over??

I agree that's an ideal fall back position and we're in a great position to make sure that Minnesota gets the guy they really want (or prevent them from getting him), but it all depends how much higher we have DWill rated than the guys likely to fall to #4.

If we feel he's a surefire All Star like some claim, and everyone past #2 in the draft is very iffy ... then we'd be foolish not to deal for him upfront. otoh, if we rate him just a little ahead of the others, it would be stupid of us to give up more than a 2nd rounder and cash to take him.

I agree with people who say we don't need this as its own thread. THIS is exactly the type of post that should go in the Cavs Draft News Tweets thread (unlike the recent crap posted in there :chuckles.

Also, who's to say Chad Ford knows anything? Considering how poor of a fit this type of trade would be for what Minnesota wants, I'm inclined to believe this is either A) Ford making up his own speculation based on educated guesses or B) Him being fed rumors by the Cavs FO, and we all know how many smoke screens the Cavs have put out there (considering the Cavs are doing 10 different things with their #1 and #4 picks according to "rumors").

Sessions cannot be traded back to Minnesota until after 7/1 anyways because he has a trade restriction that doesn't expire until then.
