Cavs in dicussions with Bucks for Redd AND Charlie V....

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No man, not from you. Sorry. I meant Sirius. Unless it was from ESPN Radio (even then it's probably not THAT credible), I wouldn't trust those stations.

Oh, ok. I don't BS. I want a great deal to go down for us, just like rest of you guys do. I posted this to see if anyone thought it would be a wise move as soon as I heard it. I also think it is the best scenario I have heard so far. That's why I'm praying W&G let's us in on if there really is any truth behnd it.

I know Ferry has coveted Redd for a while. Plus, we know we are/were looking at different ways of getting Vilanueva, so it seems like it could/would be likely that Danny is contemplating this if it is true.

This is a no-brainer trade if true..... we'd still need help up front, but it doesn't leave us bad enough off to not do it.

It would be a great, glorious trade but it couldn't be our only move of the offseason is what I'm trying to say.

can they even really be talking about Charlie V and AV, since neither is under contract? And would AV agree to go to Milwaukee...I guess if he got paid, but still?!

I was wondering the same thing. I know S&T's can be complex, so I don't know how exactly that would work out.

What station/show was it on sirius?

I'm not sure how I feel about this, didn't Mo and Redd not work that well together in Milwaukee? And, I might be the biggest fan of Charlie V. on the board, but that leaves us with a very defensively weak front court.

True, but people also talked shit about Mo having no D whatsoever, and look what happened. I think the same would happen to Charlie V. Redd would be decent, IMO. He was heavily scouted for his D when playing at OSU. I know he may not be as quick as he used to be, but with the right coaching he would contribute nicely, I believe.

I don't buy it...

I did not hear this, but I doubt it happens. If it did I would be pumped and apprehensive at the same time.

We finally get some size on the wing in Redd but he isn't exactly known for his D. Giving up both AV and Ben would hurt too because we thin out our bigs even more. CV would be a good pickup as well, but he has defensive liabilities.

When you think about it talent wise it is an obvious steal for us if this happens. The real concern is that we get defensively weaker.

Redd was actually drafted as a defensive specialist out of TOSu, so I bet with Mike Brown he would actually be a very good defender.

No this is a no brainier. Redd's contract is up after next season so if things don't work out we can still go for a guy like Bosh. Charlie V is not going to cost us a whole lot and has potential of spreading the floor even more. Think about LeBron having Mo, Redd, and Charlie surrounding the 3pt arch. Why is everyone on this board in love with RJ? He might be slightly better than Redd overall now but not by much. Plus his contract is not up until 2011.

I could care less about are first round pick. This draft is not very deep and we are much more concerned about the present than the future of the team.

That was like 9 or 10 years ago though..

He's got too much money to care
He's set in his ways
He's had a major knee injury
He's heavier

So I doubt it...

Charlie V. is a restricted free agent so he's still on the Bucks... Varejao is an unrestricted free agent so he's have to be signed before the deal could be done.

As far as frontcourt depth it doesn't leave us that bad.... it just leaves us in the same situation as we are in now with Varejao not being signed and swap Ben with Villanueva... as far as $$$ flexibility and options there though I don't know what the ramifications would be as far as adding someone further after the trade though because we'd still need a signing there.

Also if the trade were to happen it looks like a vote of confidence for D-Block and J.J.

I don't either, but then again, it does make sense for both teams. If Redd doesn't work out, then he is off the books in 2010 and we still can keep Vilanueva.

Losing Ben and Sasha are not a loss at all. Varejao is a huge loss on defense though. If this were to happen the Cavs would obviously be after a solid defender...BIRDMAN

I still have faith he can defend, I'm sure he would care on an actual championship contender.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing but then realized that we still would have the MLE to sign Sheed if he agreed.

I'd be okay with that if we didn't overpay and didn't give him a long contract. He's an energy guy on the wrong side of 30.
