Cavs Negotiating Deal with Matt Barnes (signs w/ Lakers)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is a huge red flag for our franchise that he took half the money to sign with LA.
This should be a red flag to all the posters who think you can rebuild on the fly in Cleveland : even someone who didn't make that much money in his career decided to go to LA (I wouldn't even be suprised if Boston proposed the same contract but he chose Hollywood) for half the price

If the Cavs want stars on their roster, they'd better draft them...

Re: Cavs Negotiating Deal with Matt Barnes

The Cavaliers need to build through the draft and trades and overcome these shortcomings the same way San Antonio, Portland, and some others do. Things aren't hopeless. It's just the Cavaliers are going to need to be smart how they go about rebuilding.

Rebuild through the draft? We drafted LeBron. He left when his contract was up.

ugh...I'm in "the NBA sucks" mode still.

With the addition of Barnes the Lakers have now solidified maybe their only weakness last year which was their bench.

Barnes, Blake/Fisher, Odom all coming off the bench make for one hell of an 8 man unit.

Wright signed with the Kings earlier today; Hayes is talking with the Celtics...
I'd rather go young...

Agree. I'd rather go young too and don't see a need to add an average vet. Only meant if the Cavs feel the need to add a vet that there are other options out there other than Barnes that would come cheaper.
Did see today that Wright looks to be going to the Kings.

No need to invest decent sized money or multiple years on any of the remaining FA's. Thank you Matt Barnes for choosing the Lakers.
