How can someone be half jewish?

Depends upon whether you are Orthodox or Reform. The Orthodox would say you are Jewish only if your mother is Jewish. So, whether or not your other parent is Jewish would be irrelevant. The Reform movement doesn't trace a person's claim to be Jewish to the mother, so if either parent is Jewish then the child could be considered half-Jewish.

Having said that, I'm pretty sure Parker is a practicing Christian, whether or not he has a parent who is Jewish.

Thank god your not the GM then. Andy is simply not worth a potential franchise player, and to think otherwise is completely idiotic.
