I'm not trying to exaggerate this, I just honestly believe that Pacers are around the toughest team we will play in the East. Yea, Wizards are perhaps a bit better. But Wiz, Bucks, Raptors, Hawks, and Celtics are all around the same level imo.

Not to say we won't have lapses and drop games here or there, but if we sweep the Pacers, we are in really good shape. We will probably see the Wizards, but I don't believe any of those teams are much better than the Pacers. The West is a different story. But if we can get a lot of rest, it could give us a big advantage.
I want no part of the Greek Freak. With Middleton they actually have spacing as well

I disagree. The wizards are significantly better from what I've seen.

Just here for the ride BABY. vroom, VROOOM

Paul George sounds like he’s out the door in his press conference.

This Pacers team is a totally different animal since Lance Stephenson started playing like it's 2012 again. Easily top 3 teams in the east

Still, it's PG playing like he's almost at LeBron's level, though, that's doing it, really. He makes his teammates better in so many ways.

Wall is on a similar tier to George and Beal is better than any of Paul's running mates. Lowry and Derozan are a better combo than any duo on the Pacers with a better supporting cast IMO. I think Pacers are at best 4th in the East.

EDIT: It also makes me sad that George will leave Indiana. I don't want him to beat us but I was hoping he could build something special in Indiana. Those fans deserve a contender and George may be my favorite non-Cav in the NBA. The way he returned from that injury is pure inspiration. And he's cold-blooded late in games. Would loathe to see him in yellow and purple or... God forbid... green.

Here's something crazy to look at:

And here's something funny to follow up:

I think the Wizards / Raptors / Bucks are better than Indiana...I mean, who is the second best Indiana player, Jeff Teague? But Paul George is as good as anyone in the East, and they do have decent role player depth. They aren't a bad team, better than Detroit was last year I think.

And we couldn't possibly used that here too, right?

I think not bring back Lance sooner was the biggest mistake Bird made and might be the biggest reason Paul George leaves. With Lance they may have been able to move on from George Hill sooner and found a better fit point guard other than Teague.

I agree with this. I think the Wizards are definitely better.

Wall isn't too much better than George overall, and George is a better two way player...but Wall is a lightning quick point guard and in todays NBA and with us in particular, that will give us MUCH more trouble than Geroge has. Shumpert has looked great on George, and was not good on point guards this year. Though if he stays this locked in, I do think he can do a really good job on Wall. Plus Wall's passing is elite and will give us more problems than George if we simply try to trap him all game.

On top of that, Beal is a legitimate second option. Hes putting up prime Ray Allen type of numbers. He can take over the offensive duties for spurts if we sell out on Wall.

Porter has turned into an elite 3nD guy as well, probably better than any 3 and D guys that Indiana has.

The Wizards bench is pretty poor even with Bogan, and while their bigs are better defensively and more consistent than Indianas bigs, they have nobody who can do as much damage as Myles Turner can.

If Markieff Morris plays at the top of his game, I think it will be a very competitive 6 game series. He is a big x-factor type of player. If he sucks, I think it will be Cavs in 5 or a soft 6 rather than a super competitive 6.

But either way, they're way better than the Pacers. Wayyy better. Lots more shooting to deal with. But I think they're probably worse defensively, so our offense should be able to get whatever we want.

Stephenson on Indiana though is just odd. He's a better player then Porter for example on the Wizards on the Pacers. Strange dude

I also feel confident in saying Milwakee is better.

Personally, I think Giannis is a better player than George, but that's debatable. I, however, have no idea who guards him with if we continue to save LeBron. Hes entirely too big for Shumpert and Smith, and while he isn't the explosive offensive player George is, he will kill those two on the boards.

But more importantly, Middleton is way, way better than Indiana's second best player, and, with the way JR is playing, way better than our two guards.
