There will be major eating. He's getting ate.

Kevin Love will run circles around Ibaka, Love will be on point from 3, own him on the boards and make Ibaka shoot fade away jumpers from the post.
Ibaka will play the 4 and be non factor as a rim protector.. If they go small then good luck trying to stop Frye and Love at the 4/5.

JV is their biggest weapon against our undersized team, not Ibaka.

COMPLETELY disagree. I have a strong feeling Patrick Patterson will play him a lot and Ibaka is going to be more of a zone defender with Tristan being his main target. JV is going to be more of their paint force on their offensive end.

Really.. makes 0 sense other than the fact that the NBA hates Cleveland. They rather see Canada prevail.

NBA did the Raps a solid with the schedule. Makes no sense that Bos-Washington starts before our series when both Cle and Tor finished their 1st round 1st. Game 1 should be tonight. Raps got 2 extra days off for no reason and our advantage from sweeping is mitigated.
Not quite. People need to realize that nothing was done to the Cavs...our series is actually starting on time.

The long and short of it is the schedule is the way it is to accommodate ABC, because they’re sensitive to wasted timeslots. ABC scheduled months ago to have 2 NBA playoff games on Sunday afternoon, so damnit they’re gonna get 2 games on Sunday afternoon, regardless if it’s 1st round or 2nd round. Cavs were ineligible for one of those timeslots because if either them or their ECSF opponent had to play a Game 7, they would be playing tonight.

TNT will move up series start dates as well, but only if both 1st round series go 5 games or less. The idea behind it is to minimize the amount of time between not having any NBA games on the schedule. So it’s the Raptors fault we’re not starting the ECSF tonight.

Also, the Spurs-Rockets series plays on the exact same schedule as us, so this isn’t a anti-Cavs thing.

I am not saying they did it because they were anti-Cavs, but giving the Raps 4 days off and Bos/Wash 2 days is a break for Toronto.

Also, why does it matter than game 7 was going to be Saturday if it didn't go 7. The NBA couldn't have said, "If Raptos win game 6, then they'll start Sunday, if Bucks win, they'll start Monday"?

Just looking at the Cavs/Raps series from last year and the phenomenal defense this team played, some of the best defense any team played in the playoffs last season.

Raptors scored only 90 points per game (84, 89, 99, 105, 78, 87), 83.7 at home and a DRTG of 101 (the series was played a very slow pace of 89 possessions per game).

I'm looking at this numbers in astonishment. 90 ppg allowed and only 84 at home? What are the odds we hold the Raps under 90 even once this series let alone 4 times out of 6?

This is addressing my larger point...the NBA isn’t picking these dates randomly or arbitrarily. Plan A as well as contingency plans for these games are already worked out in advance so things proceed in an orderly way. There’s a reason why in the 1st round, potential Games 6 and 7 for the 1 vs 8 and 4 vs 5 seeds are scheduled for the same day in both conferences, same for the 2 vs 7 and 3 vs 6. The series start date for the 2nd round is always 2 days after a potential Game 7, but can be moved up 2 days before. So the Cavs and Raps starting Sunday was never an option because that was always earmarked for the other half of the bracket.

So NBA schedule worked out really well for Toronto, even though it doesn't make a whole lot of sense given the way the series played out.

I found it strange that the NBA announced so early that the Cavs would play Monday. Are Saturday afternoon games just not nearly as attractive as Sunday afternoons, ratings-wise?

I actually think Love playing well is more of an important factor for this series than Irving. The best way to ensure we beat the Raptors is by winning the rebound game, so we need to make sure Love and TT are wreaking havoc on that end.

If Kyrie can go ham that would certainly make things easier, but I've been so impressed with Deron Williams in the playoffs so far that it doesn't make it as essential as it would otherwise be.

We need Kyrie. He's going against an all-star in Lowry. Our back court is going to be at a massive disadvantage if Kyrie is not right. I certainly don't expect JR to out play DeRozan, even if DeRozan throws in a stinker.

Kyrie out played Lowry last year overall in the series, and when he did in the games, we won big. The games we lost last year was when Lowry out played him; at home.

If Kyrie plays at least average defense and is his himself offensively, the Raptors have no chance to beat us.

Their only legit chance is if Lowry just is soundly better than Kyrie. Because there's no way DeRozan is out playing LeBron.

I think at worst Love and Ibaka off set each other. Maybe one plays better than the other. I doubt it's to the point where it makes the difference in the series. At least if Ibaka out plays Love. I don't think he dominates that match up.

Personally, I think Love is going to give him problems. He's going to extend him away from that basket.

I think the Cavs come out guns blazing in game 1, just a feeling

If the cavs decide to defend like their lives depend on it, this will be a short series. If not, it will go to 7 with the risk of being upended by tor.

Let's face it, we have no idea how the Cavs are going to look like against the Raptors. Raptors offense isn't as bad as the bucks made it seem.
If we give them open looks, they are going to knock them down. We need Kyrie to play like his normal playoff's self and Love to step it up to make it a relatively quick series.

The Cavs since LBJ came back have simply had a lot of success against Ibaka.

Biyombo was a monster last year. We were caught off guard, and he completely neutralized TT's energy. I don't think there is any way Ibaka comes close to that type of impact.

Korver, Frye, and Love are going to be wide open all series.

At the end of the day....it comes down to this...

If the Raps go big, LeBron at the 4 runs them off the court with a shooter at the 5.

If the Raps go small, LeBron at the 4 beats them down into submission with TT at the 5.

Cavs in 5. We win 1,2 lose 3, win 4,5.
