So I remember earlier in the year you were really pro-Osman. I believe we got into a debate about it. If you don't mind me asking, what changed for you? Why do you now think he is going to struggle in the NBA?
As I said then - and I'll repeat now - I think it is very difficult to analyze European players generally, and impossible if you do not actually watch the games. Hence why I am asking people who have watched the games their opinions.
Yeah, I still like Osman but there are new things to take into consideration and that is a deep draft, cap space status, the fact that he isn't a 1st round pick and we need to use part of the MLE on him when we have other positions to fill and the fact that he hasn't improved this year like I thought he would.
Beforehand, I didnt watch him as carefully, I liked his tools, liked his 3pt potential, foot speed, defense but the lack of progression or even regression, lack of involvement in the offense and the fact that imo he isn't ready to contribute for the next or two years is a problem.
His ceiling imo is a very good 3&D and energy guy role player but by the time he reaches that, it might be too late.
Yes, it's very difficult to analyze european players, but again, the fact that everytime he gets a pass he throws it right back to the ball handler, unless it's an open 3pt is worrisome.
I have yet to see him create off the dribble and the fact that both Tyler Honeycutt and Brandon Paul look much more dominant is kinda depressing.
I'd like to see him in the combine and SL but it's going to be hard for him to shine without shot creators around him, especially when everyone wants to show their talent.
Dunno what to tell you... I have no idea what his stock is anyways.
