I think he is ready for a 12-16 Minute Role as a 3&D guy next season. He wont be great at either right from the Start but he will be solid. I doubt Cedi alone can get us someone alot better than him now.. and we cant just ignore his Upside. We have to invest in younger Players who we can grow. ONLY Veteran Ring Chasers wont cut it.

The only true trade moves for Cedi are A.) exchanging him for a player that we envision Cedi to be in 2-3 years ...ala a Robert Covington. B.) trading him for multiple seconds or a 1st that would allow us to acquire players in separate trades or kick back a first in a deal for someone like Melo.

Beyond that, any other move doesn't make any sense to me. Trading him for a 1st and then using that first is silly IMO. I'd also argue trading him for picks for someone like Melo qualifies as a "meh" move. Especially given his frame, steady improvement and shooting potential.

If the organization really believes in him, they have to just commit to him getting 15 minutes a night from the start and sticking with him through the peaks and valleys. That's the only thing I'm truly scared about with Cedi...is that the organization won't give him the room he needs to breath as he tries to adjust and figure out the NBA game. Guess we'll see.

Melo is a logical add as long as the big 3 stay in tact.
I understand your position be i just dont agree..if our problem was offense there is a logic to it, but thats not why we give up a 24/4 run in Q2 of game 5. During the regular season, we can win a lot of games with augmenting players like TT and JR, but when it come to finals and the other team looks like 4 superstars, and we only have three, we are getting overwhelmed. If we were adding Harden for JR, then yeah that works, but Melo has never delivered tgat kind of overall game and is certainly not at that level now. Not saying we can get harden, but rather pointing out the talent we need.

Another way to play it is to keep Cedi, and try to build the future Kyrie Irving team. These woikd be younger players like Dwill and skill sets that offset a diminished role for Lebron..However going that route before Lebron gets 6 rings is an invitation for him to exit to LA. I dont tjink this is the year we male that call.

The problem is offense to a degree, in that the team crumbles immediately when LBJ leaves the game, both offensively and defensively.

They need another person capable of carrying the load with KI, or with KL so LBJ can sit for stretches.

This is the number one goal of this offseason- reshape the roster/philosophy to make this team LESS LBJ dependent. This means he needs to sit 13-17 mins a game during the reg season as well as significant reduced mins during back to backs and, be able to sit for 10 mins a game during the playoffs.

Carmelo, combined with KI and KL, can facilitate the offense while he sits.

LeBron isn't getting 6 rings. The sooner he realizes this the less pressure he'll play with.

Well, you are welcome to explain it to him, but I don't think he is ready to hear that argument as yet.

If the 13-15th guys on the bench are young, developmental players instead of James Jones and Dahntay Jones, the team isn't going to be any worse because of it. If they think this guy can play, then bring him over. Maybe he'll earn minutes.

Well is LeBron so damn stupid as to think he's getting 3 more rings if he goes to LA to play with Chris Paul and Carmelo Anthony? If he does that, it's just cause he wants to live there and have fun. It's not because he's expecting to win titles, unless he's dumb as a brick.

A player of Lebron's stature is not a guy that mails it in. He sees himself as a historical event (with good reason) and he is not going to want to lose. Which is why I say Thompson and Cedi are components in an upgrade trade. The only other way to try to coach both of those guys to a next level status (Thompson to become offensively enabled and Cedi to reach NBA level defensive capability). I just don't see Lue as that guy.
I think the most likely scenario is they trade Cedi for a first and then couple that first with TT for a player yet to be named.

Anyone else see a little manu in his game?

Definitely doesn't have the same thighs....
Could have sworn you said you liked what you saw out of his thiccness.

So he is a short shorts, unibrow, and Addidas enthusiast? LeBron is going to force him off the team by September. It's official. :chuckle:

If Larry Bird and LeBron were on the same team, what would happen?

Larry Bird and Isiah Thomas would say if LeBron was Hispanic he would just be another guy....

Saw a rumor the other day that said we could flip Osman for a late first because signing Cedi would eat some of our MLE

If this guys isn't playing for the Cavs next year, please move him for someone/something that can.

38 pages dedicated to a non NBA player that will likely be a bench guy when the Cavs have a team that's played in 3 straight finals and likely will play for a 4th next year.

Move this dude if he has any value unless hes going to help.
