Would people be happy with osman / green swap

I think it's depends on who we get with our mini mle. It won't simply be a Osman and Green swap, we will have to add Shump or Frye into the mix. I think a deal like that is the cherry on top type deal vs the first one we make. If Melo doesn't get a buy out and we have to trade for him, you can't give up Frye or Shump in a role player deal because we will then have to give up TT in a Melo deal. We can't give up the small flexibility we have to make slight upgrades.

Now if we sign one or two good players using the mini MLE. Melo gets bought out. We get some more Big man depth. I would definately would trade for Danny Green using Frye+filler and Cedi.

Shump, Frye, and Cedi for Leonard. Get it done Gilbert!

If nothing else if it's been put our there that the Spurs are interested in Cedi, it ups his value. It might change a GMs mind if he is on the fence on a bigger deal that Cedi is a throw in.

This could only mean one thing......His thighs are ready....

In that case I'm investing...

I think the key here is that two of the biggest supporters of Cedi have left the front office, Griffin and Redden. If other teams inquired about Cedi in a trade before and were unwilling to reach the price our old front office put on him, they must be interested in his current worth to the Cavs.

That makes me nervous. There is something in this kid. He shouldn't be just a throw in.

Might as well throw in a bad of Flaming Hot Cheetos while you're at it. Better than 2/3rds of that package.

Can someone remind me:
1) How much we can contribute?
2) What salary is he slotted for?
3) Why the new Kings Euro got so much damn money?

The number I found is 650k that we can contribute for his buyout. A minimum salary would be $562,493 but we can use part of the mini MLE to pay him.

Because he was a 1st round pick in the 2014 draft. Whatever rookie scale rights/contracts limits expired and they were able to sign him for any amount they wanted since they have 50 million in cap space.

So does Cedi still have contract limits? I would hope there is a slotted value so we can minimize expenses, while still using some of the MLE to buy his 3rd year.

As a second round pick Cedi has always and will always only have the limits of what the Cavs can do by the rules of the salary cap.

Since we are over the salary cap. We can only use exceptions to sign him

Since we're over the tax apron, the only exceptions we have are a partial or full use of the taxpayerMLE(about 5M) and the rookie minimum
