I would be pissed if we gave up Cedi for Danny Green. Griff held that kid in high regards and never thought about moving him for a reason.

Are you serious?

Cedi may well go on to become a solid NBA player. But from whatever highlights I have seen, he looks like far from someone who could be a starter for a contender. Danny Green is however.

If we could salary dump Shumpert and give them Osman for Danny Green, I'm in.

Why? That's basically a lateral move. Green is just as bad with the ball in his hands and inconsistent on defense. There's no reason to salary dump anyone let alone to give up osman to do it.

Danny Green this last season was resembling the man we waived. For all the talent the Spurs possessed (and they are pretty talented) , Danny struggled to do the things he's routinely done well. All this to say, based on the situation we are in, it would be foolish to think Cedi will contribute on a championship squad.

If we deal him to spurs he will likely some how turn into a beast well Danny Green continues his rapid free fall into a below average player

Are you sure about that? He shot 38% from three and made the NBA All Defensive Second team. Sounds pretty solid to me.

I like Cedi a lot but I'd trade him and salary filler for Green.

Green fixes several issues on our roster.

1. He provides a steady defensive presence next to Kyrie. A guy who can guard the best perimeter defender night in and night out.

2. He pushes JR to the bench, adding more scoring punch to the second unit.

3. He potentially allows us to deal or dump Shump to shed some salary and better balance the roster. You could snag a nice vet big or backup PG for Shump's salary slot.

Cedi may or may not be ready to contribute in any meaningful way soon.

If he can get you a youngish reliable 3&D guy like Green, on a nice contract, you make that swap IMO.

I think Green would be a very good addition. I think he would wind up giving LeBron more rest because Green would provide defense to that first unit and this team could build leads better. How many times did we have Love firing threes in the first, Kyrie scoring, LeBron going at it, and wind up leading by only 2 or 3 or 4? It's because the defense wasn't very good at all.

People don't realize that JR isn't a great defender in that starting unit while Green is still one of the best perimeter defenders as a two guard. They don't look for JR as much anymore and the offense is still deadly potent so while Green's peak is not as high on offense, overall, his impact is higher. Green would add a plus defender who the Spurs often put on Harden, Durant, good PGs since Parker couldn't guard them. Then you could bring JR off the bench with LeBron and help extend leads. Honestly, the team would build bigger leads, be able to rest LeBron perhaps a little more and perhaps have more in the tank come the finals. Not enough to get us over the top, but I think makes us better.

There is a very, very high chance that Cedi will never be as good as 2017 Green. Green is a plus player who doesn't demand the ball and is a very good teammate. This would be a no-brainer, I think.

I'm hesitant to deal him until we know what we've got. But of course if you wait for that, his trade value could dip. So it's a double edged sword.

I like Green but as others have said, if the Spurs are dumping him....might be getting some damaged goods in some form.

You know that what will end up happening is we trade Cedi to the Spurs for Green. Green get's a season ending injury 10 games before the end of the regular season, and Cedi is rookie of the year.
