Charlie V a Cav?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sasha would be involved in the chandler trade ben is an expiring, but is agent says he wont let him walk away(mentioned his agent wouldnt allow it the day Ben said it) , dont see the mo pete trade going through becasue pavs already used. Dont see CV going for the mle without the bucks matching him. Sessions is much more likely to go. Plus, they will try and traderj or redd before they just let a 24 year old promising pf walk for nothing.

Why would Sasha be involved in the Chandler trade? The salaries work with Ben and Kinsey. No reason in adding more money to NOH(only 1.5 million, but still it's a waste).

Milwaukee will NOT pay the luxury tax. They are 6 million dollars under the tax. They have to sign the #10 pick(1.8 million), Sessions, or Villanueva. If they match a full MLE offer for Villanueva, they can't sign Sessions or the pick. If they don't match it, they can re-up Sessions and sign the pick. Even if they trade RJ/Redd for expirings, it does nothing for this this season. The only way they can keep CV is to trade the #10 and a bad contract to a team that can eat it, which, in this economy, probably won't happen.

cv is a bigger asset than sessions, I thinkg they choose cv....why trade Ben for Ben and Kinsey to get under the luxery if according to Ben's agent he will not walk away....shorter contracts, still paying luxury. They will want Sasha to cut him and avoid paying luxery,

Skiles doesn't like Villanueva. Sessions has proven to be a stud in the making, and they want to keep their #10 pick. Villanueva won't be a Buck next year unless something miraculous happens.

You need to understand how trades and the salary cap work. Posey and Chandler are 18,280,000 in salary coming back in the trade. The Cavs can only take in 125%+100,000 of what they take out. Ben HAS to be involved. In this deal, Kinsey's contract is un-guaranteed. They only take on Ben's, they drop 4 million dollars in salary, and their luxury tax number is now 73 instead of 77 million This saves them 8 million dollars instantly.

The follow-up of Sasha for Mo Pete/#21 saves them 4.5 million dollars after they'd waive Sasha. It puts them under the luxury tax and their payroll at 68.5 million dollars. Assuming a 71 million dollars luxury tax threshold, these two deals, combined, save them 15 million dollars...INSTANTLY, and they get out of three bad multi-year contracts.

Not to mention, any money Ben leaves on the table via retirement/buyout would just ADD to the 15 million in savings for NOH, and could give them legit cap room to add depth to play with CP3 via MLE without hitting the Tax.

Plus Milwaukee just drafted Joel Alexander last season to play that SF/PF role.

IF they really can only keep one, it will definitely be Sessions IMO.

Or they could draft a point guard 10th overall and let both Sessions and Villanueva walk.

i definetely understand the salary cap and how it works, Sasha plus Boobie works for chandler alone, they can cut sasha, save 3.5 mill plus....and still have boobie

They wouldn't do that trade.

The whole point is to be able to not only take Chandler on, but to eat the contracts of Posey and Mo Pete so that they trade us Chandler. They're not just going to trade Chandler for that.

If we would eat Posey's contract and they would do it for just Ben and ans expiring, and Ferry would do it...sign me up. But I am not sure Gilbert signs off on adding that much income, and I am not sure NO would do it anyways...loosing alot of talent for nothing....last year they had chandler traded for just expirings....so I think it is possible.

I wonder when will the dominoes start to fall?....FA signing starts July 1 but does anyone expect any pre-draft or draft-day type trades for any of the usual suspects. I guess asking does anyone know of other interest in Kaman or Chandler or any of the other bigs the Cavs might realistically be targeting (i.e. Charley V or RJ or Shaq, for example). While I think Ariza would be a nice pick-up, I don't see him leaving the Lakers for just the MLE.

I doubt the Bucks will keep him considering they are 6 million under luxary cap and they will sign the #10 pick so that will have them at about 4 million. The Cavs could offer a lot better for Charlie with the MLE.

Free agents can agree to deals on July 1st but can't sign any deals until the 8th of July

IMO we may have a shot at Kaman because of who the Clippers are going to draft, next best bet would be Charlie V and then after that the players the team would look at would be in the tier of Anthony Parker type players. I also wouldn't be surprised if a player falls I would could see them moving up to acquire one. I personally like the Harden guy but getting him will probably be a long shot since he will more than likely go in the top 5 and I like Terrance Williams as well but he will probably go in the middle of the 1st but that could also be a spot where we look to move up.

Villanueva is the one guy thats been mentioned with the Cavs who could make his career here. Meaning its still very possible that he breaks out as a top talent on this team. In the past hes not shown a great work ethic but thats changed over the last season.

He would work very well with Shaq or Kaman.someone who is a real offensive threat down low. At worst hed be a guy we bring off the bench for straight offense, but at best its possible he could become a star here, if he continues to mature as a guy and as a player.

Kaman, Childress and Villanueva wouldnt be blockbuster moves, but I think that would be just about the most complete offseason we could have.

or CV could just take the tender offer of $4,623,835 for the 2009-10 season and become an UFA in 2010 when a lot more teams will have cash to spend.

I think its funny how we get a chance to add a young part to this team for nothing and poeple still say we shouldnt do it. If we sign him we could still trade for a big named person. this guy could be a starter for years to come and we would only have to give up the mle and people still say we shouldnt get him thats just stupid.

Guess the only thing that will make people happy is unrealistic trades for guys like bosh or amare. Get off 2k9 and realize guys like this dont come around often.
