Chris Parker/Cleveland Scene answers your questions part 2

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
To even mention officiating is laughable.

Run the video on four of those 10 2q turnovers and tell me those weren't terrible calls. Or perhaps read the article and spot the part when I start talking in depth about it and note how I say calls usually even - ah forget it, if you were really interested you woulda read it b4 you made the smart ass comment.

I don't think officiating cost us the game... We didn't play well enough to win. But, had the game been closer, officiating would have been a huge problem. The GSW fan next to me at the bar even said it was bad.

I'm embarrassed for anybody that is commenting on officiating today. I made that abundantly clear. I think Windy said the same thing on the radio today. Can't help but agree. If you're mad about my opinion, well, sorry. Not sorry.

I'm embarrassed by people just trying to pin somebody down to as a straw man and set them on fire. I'm embarrassed by people who would guess at my thoughts rather than read my extensive accounts of them. But do I GAF about what you think? Unlikely.

The reffing was bad in the 2nd Q which had a huge impact on the game. The moment when the flurry of bad calls happened to coincide with the moments Curry & Durant were off the floor. Going into half even might've made a difference in how they responded in the 3rd when they sort of wilted down 15+. But hey, that's just an asshole, I mean an opinion.

Saying the officiating was terrible is not blaming the loss on it. Of course, you can decide I think whatever you want and criticize me for your made up opinion of my opinion.

But isn't that really wasting both our time?

I know the crux of your point wasn't that officiating caused the loss. You clearly do care at least somewhat about what I am saying, otherwise you'd not have replied. Not that I'm faulting you for doing so.

I just felt like if I were, say, a professional writer and sat down to write about the game...I wouldn't bother to bring it up. But then again I have a strange built in aversion to talking about officiating unless it's an absolutely egregious disparity. Which, I think we can agree, it was not. Anecdotes like, "The Warriors fan I sat next to agreed it was bad!" just don't cut it. Plenty of Warriors fans thought it was biased towards the Cavs in the first half, which is equally obnoxious to me. It's the NBA, we've all been watching the same league, calls go for and against on a whim. It's the nature of the league.

Anyway, waste of time, I agree with that. Just expressing my asshole, I mean opinion like everyone else.

"absolutely egregious disparity"?

Lets see, allow a basket when the player stepped OoBs? Or, allow multiple hacks across players forearms at the rim? Or, not calling reach in fouls? Or, calling for Jump Balls on traps when defender has the player hugged around the waist?

Yup, nothing to see here.

Multiple hacks across forearms...not calling reach in fouls... typical generalizations that NBA fans bitch about every single game regardless of whatever team they root for. Nothing to see here indeed. Go watch tennis.

Touch Fouls called phucking 30 feet from the Rim...................................

Phuckin' A man. Them refs.

I really believe it will even out over the course of a game. There are however tipping points in games. the refs can push a team on that tipping point with a series of bad calls, thereby contributing. But if the Cavs had come out and played harder from the start with more physical presence -- AS THEY KNEW THEY SHOULD -- the reffing would have had a chance to even out. But they started out shaky and the refs tripped them up. A better team would have had more composure, but it was a difficult circumstance.

All I ask is that they call the game evenly.
Screw ups I can live with.
Getting screwed? Not so much.

The refs did suck but our team sucked worse. We didn't deserve to win and even if the game was reffed perfectly we still would have gotten beat.

You're ignoring all those calls that went the Cavs way late in the 4th.... [sigh]
That's their MO.
Make them up after the game's been decided.

I wish there was a Stat for Fouls called within a 10 point differential.
