Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dang......if we were middle of the pack, we'd at least be 1-0-1, at worst

Regards to drop %

When Hyde got around the corner and into the end zone against NOLA he did something Crowell has never done, Crowell never had the speed to get to the outside on a run. Hyde has performed better than Crowell hands down, IDK why so many people are down on him. Not to mention, Hyde doesn't get tackled by blades of grass the way Crowell did. I want to see Chubb get more carries but Hyde has run hard for us.

It really doesn't show up in the stats or on the field that Hyde is hands down better compared to Crowell. If anything, Hyde has to deal with some of the same problems that Crowell did. Poor run blocking and playcalling.

Rushing per game
Year Att Yds TD

Isaiah Crowell 2017 12.9 53.3 0.1
Carlos Hyde 2018 19.0 52.5 1.0

Even Crowell this year has been more productive than Hyde with less carries.

Rushing Per Game

Year Att Yds TD
Isaiah Crowell 2018 11.0 68.5 1.0

It's really early in the year and honestly, who cares if he's better or worse than Crowell. I'm not advocating for Hyde to be benched. They just need to redistribute the carries between Hyde and Chubb for a more balanced attack.

-Good personality
-Wants to be here
-Was in FLA when he got the call
-Kicked in the cold weather before.
-Kicked seven field goals, made 6 of 7. Missed a 56 yard-er, re-kicked and made it.
-Worked out with Cody in offseason
-Said he had a good preseason.
-He's ready to go.

Njoku has been killing us here.

Officially the Browns have 4 drops on the season in 70 pass attempts.

Njoku 2
Landry 1
Higgins 1

Baker, I get it. He doesn't really count. But I really am not a fan of the 2nd round picks at all.

Corbett was an extremely stupid pick considering the money we have invested in our 2 guards already. Chubb was also a questionable pick with Hyde and Duke on board already. Long term, maybe it pans out... but we could have for sure found someone else at that pick that would be a much bigger help to us this season and next season. With Running Backs having such a short career span, I am not a big fan of "drafting Chubb for the future." Running backs is the #1 position where rookies should be able to come in and contribute right away if they are any good.

Chad Thomas was probably even a bigger waste of a pick than both those guys. But, Mr. Dorsey knows what he’s doing, I’m told.

I saw the Chubb pick as taking advantage of a loaded RB draft when next year looks a hell of a lot weaker at the position. They can get rid of Hyde after this season and go forward with Chubb and Duke.
