Cleveland Browns 2018 Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No matter who the GM is I think they should get some flack for 4 picks in the top 67 playing 24 snaps in 2 weeks

Mayfield is understandable, but This team isn't good enough that it can't be helped right away by early second round picks

Agreed, thought Chubb looks promising though and Corbett seems to definitely be in the plans. Just think Thomas was a terrible pick. What about Avery?

Comedy. Dorsey, the active GM and former GM with a long NFL history being compared to the carcass of Sashi.

Sashi was not a good GM. Give. It. Up.
Just because you've been doing something for a long time doesn't mean you're good at it.

The propensity for building winning teams and getting hired/promoted does, though.

What team is Sash with?

This is your rebuttal to what he said? Sorry, but right now that guy is right.

Don’t know, but he was smart enough to sabatage the AJ McCarron trade and to actually have his top draft picks on the field.

Well first, Baker sitting is the plan. You lied to yourself if you thought otherwise.

Second, Corbett being stuck behind Zeitler and Bitonio is not an indictment on his talent.

Third, Chubb is going to gain carries if he continues to do something with them. Did you expect him to vault over Hyde, the guy Dorsey just signed, or Duke, the guy Dorsey just extended, immediately?

I've got nothing for Thomas. That's just not looking good.

It seems easy to see, for me, that Dorsey is signing guys in front of these draft picks as to not gift rookies starting gigs. We just saw for two years what a team full of the youngest players yields.

The answer is he's not employed by an NFL team.

That Justin Tuggle signing, though!

No, but when those 2 are on long term deals it’s an indictment of misusing resources, which is what a lot of us have been saying from the time the pick was made

So what’s the plan for Corbett? He’s a 6th lineman his rookie year getting a few snaps a game and then next year he gets moved to center? We should be shooting for more with the 33rd pick IMO than a red shirt center

And Bitonio has been very clear since Joe retired he did not want to play tackle So if the plan was Corbett would be a guard and Bitonio the tackle long term then it’s just ignoring the guy saying “I don’t want to do this” which I’m ok with, but at the end of the day we caved on it anyway

Exactly what Soda said.

Baker's plan was to sit. Sit Sit Sit and learn. Why rush when the whole plan was to pay $16/m to Tyrod to mentor?? I mean having Tyrod teach him to not turn over the ball is feasible, but if we were planning on having him start, we would be okay with Stanton or bring in another old vet to mentor from the side.

And Chubb...very, very, very small sample size, of course. But he is averaging 7yd/carry right now (5 carries :chuckle::chuckle::chuckle: - hey, I said very 3x) but Chubb was known around the league/college as being very talented. His injury may have hindered him from going above a Barkley, Guice, etc..but every single person knows he is talented as shit. Just like w/Tyrod, they didn't sign Hyde to a "3 year deal" to have him sit and watch Chubb on the field. Hyde has 2 TD's in 2 games and isn't tearing up the field by any means, but he's going to play. Chubb will get his chance. Ease him in. He is our future RB for the next 3 years. He doesn't have to start right away.

Everyone else? Who gives a shit. hee hee.

Sahsi expertly cleared the cap, brought in young talent, and stocked the cupboard with draft picks (Thanks to him we have three studs at the three most important positions in Baker, Garrett, Ward) that is more blue chip talent than we have had since the 1980s.

This is fair criticism. I think, personally, that Corbett is going to slide to Center in 2019. That isn't to say that choosing him thinking he could be a tackle isn't a bit misguided.

It seems to me that with both Chubb & Corbett, Dorsey was going truly what he thought was BPA. Just happens to be positions where there's some depth.

Chad Thomas reeks like an Alonzo Highsmith product. It's Dorsey's job to vet him, so he's not absolved of responsibility.

Clearing Space and accruing picks is the easy part. And I refuse to Suck off sashi for taking Garrett at number one.

Why are we drafting a guy number 1 overall that needs to sit and seasoning?

What recent QB has benefitted from sitting?

Second, Corbett being stuck behind Zeitler and Bitonio is not an indictment on his talent.

So we probably should have drafted the next best player available considering we have two of the best guards in the league on long term deals. What’s the plan for him?

I question this coaching staffs use of the backs, much like I did last year. We only attempted like 2 runs in the first quarter with the Steelers and have not used duke to his strengths at all.

I've got nothing for Thomas. That's just not looking good.

Drafted by a f00tball guy.

Except Dorsey didn’t sign Bitonio or Zeitler, he knew we had them and ignored it drafting another guard.
