Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Its like you didnt even watch what was happening, the issues was that Kaepernick was not standing.

Are we sure kneeling is the only reason Kaep is out of the league?

What about the pig socks? The donations to Assata Shakur? The Che Guevara shirt?

I dunno man.... His actions say something different than what he says he's protesting.

It's just a lot of distraction....

I think the issue is less that no one wants to hire him and more that it seems increasingly apparent that the owners got together and decided to blackball him from the league.

What's the incentive for the owners to do that? I bet they'd all be thrilled if some other team signed him. It would remove him as an issue for the league as whole, and solve at least part of a problem.

The problem isn't blackballing. The problem is that each team is deciding for its own reasons not to hire the guy. He's not good enough to be worth the guaranteed negative reaction from a large number of fans. Plus, imagine the headache if a team decided to release him because it wasn't working out? That team would run the risk of becoming the lightning rod for all those who support him.

If he was good enough starter to transform a loser into a winner, sure. But he's a backup. That's too little potential upside for the guaranteed downside.

Been watching some film of Rosen lately and he's the guy at #1 for me. He has some special qualities that warrant taking him first overall - arm strength, mobility, mental processing, gunslinger mentality. He's not a perfect prospect and certainly has his flaws - prone to mistakes under pressure, "personality" (lol...), and ball placement at times - but he seems like a guy who can put it all together and transition to the NFL the best out of the bunch.

I am all in on Tyrod as a bridge.

With Mayfield or Rosen waiting in the wings.

Just please don't pass on a potential FQB for Tyrod...

I would offer Tyrod Taylor a starting QB salary (12-15M per year) AND draft a QB No. 1 overall AND keep/continue to develop Kizer.

The QB spot needs to be addressed on multiple levels.

Last offseason I voiced apprehension about a bidding war for Taylor because he isn't a player you build an offense around. But as a bridge QB with a #1 overall pick in front of him? I'm in full support.

Just don't blow the #1 pick and for Pete's sake, get some weapons for Taylor and the young developmental projects to get the ball to. At least one running back and two receivers are needed in the first two days of the draft.

On a side note. What is Buffalo doing? They are 5-4, currently in the 2nd wild card spot. You just traded for a big new receiver. Does this seem like throwing in the towel for the rest of the season or is there something I’m missing?

It sure seems like that's what they're doing. They do need to see what Peterman has, but I don't see why that would be a priority over winning. Maybe we'll all be proven wrong, but benching Tyrod seems to be an overreaction. I guess Buffalo thinks Peterman will do less to lose a game than Tyrod can....

Maybe Peterman has just been flat out, out-performing Taylor and Buffalo knows they have a gem.

Tyrod fucked them over b/c they were trying to rebuild but he messed around and took them to 5-4, not yet out of playoff contention. That clearly wasn't the plan when they traded Watkins & a 6th for a 2nd & EJ Gains, nor was LA exploding such that the 2nd rounder went from projected mid 30s to projected mid 50s.

I can't opine on Tyrod or his numbers and decision-making, but likely they have decided that he isn't in their LT plans, and at this point, they want to see what Peterman can do so that they can draft a QB if he shows no hope OR if he has shown hope in practice and they like what they see, might as well "develop" him (after trading a great receiver) for the end of this year so that he can turn the corner into next season.

Exec Summary: The Bills didn't plan on winning much at all this year, and now they had to Omaha in a way that makes them look like mouth breathers.

He was supposed to be our guy last offseason. When he inevitably becomes available I expect us to pursue him heavily if Hue and the FO are still here. Problem is he might have a few more suitors out there. DEN and JAX for sure.

Peterman's processing speed is phenomenal. He's got an ok arm and decent mobility. Wouldn't be surprised to see him jumpstart that offense at least in the short term.
