Alright.

Help me feel more relieved, as again...we're pretty much getting telegraphed here.

Help me come up with the last cocky/arrogant QB to do well in the NFL? I want someone that was blatantly like this in college.

Tell me why he differs from Manziel and Ryan Leaf too because I need to be reassured here.

Rosen is more like Leaf attitude wise not Baker. Not sure I am helping here, but the comparison of Leaf to Baker is extremely flawed.

Other cocky QB's were Jimmy Clausen And Vinny Testeverde. Vinny humbled in the NFL and went on to a pretty decent career. Clausen on the other hand was put into a pickle of a situation and never flourished.

Hard to believe Philipp Rivers was any different in college than he is now. Cam Newton is pretty cocky if you ask me too. Refusing to play for a team (Eli) is pretty arrogant.

The whole Manning family is arrogant including Payton. Arrogant, especially in a qb, isnt always bad, depends on how they treat their teammates.

Clausen was cocky, sure, but nowhere near the statistical success of Rosen or W-L and statistical success of Mayfield. Clausen also had the added cockiness and pressure of being from a QB factory family.

Cocky with the talent to back it up is fine. Cocky without debilitating substance and personality disorders like Johnny is also fine. Cocky with the ability to still lead and inspire teammates and cope with occasional setbacks is fine.

No way you can put Rosen and Leaf in the same universe, let alone in the same bucket. Look into who they are, where they came from, parents, how they think... more opposites than parallels. Not close or comparable in any way, shape or form.

Tall, strong armed west coast qb's not liked by teammates. (supposedly with Rosen not being liked.)

Vinny wasn't...-awful- with the Browns. I heard he was color blind though and that may have had quite a bit to do with why he was flawed.

I mean Farve was a drunk/drug addict as was Joe Namath.

And Mayfield indeed has an arrest record.

NOW...the NFL isn't a choir boy league or anything. I get it. Cam Newton has an arrest record. Jameis Winson has an arrest record. That damn rapist down in Pittsburgh? Well we know his reputation. But this is something we cannot fuck with.

With this pick? I want to get a QB (as close as possible) in quality as Cam Newton, Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning and Matt Ryan as possible.

That's got to be the job of Dorsey.

He has an arrest record as a result of trying to run from police when he was drunk. JT Barrett has a DUI on his record and I don't think anyone questions his character.

I mean I'm not going to go "judge not" here. If the guy takes this shit serious during the season, but drinks during the offseason? I could give a shit.

Hell do you think the fans here are angry if we had our own No. 7 like Pittsburgh does? We'd be awkwardly muttering excuses right now.

Look...if we're going to have to play this game with rosen? Take his stupid ass and hold him ransom.

I suppose it’s possible the Browns could try and squeeze an asset or two out of the Giants to move up one spot if they’re smitten with Rosen.
We should be able to do that. The Chargers got an absolute haul in the Eli fiasco. We won't get that much but we should get something.

This is something I've spent way too much thought on. First Rosen can not want to play for the Browns all he wants but realistically he either has to be willing to give up his NFL career by a year, or has to impress another team so much they are willing to give up a boat load for him . Otherwise he can stomp his feet all he wants but at the end of the day he would end up on the browns

can a mod turn this into a poll, see who everyone wants to draft for QB?

This also all depends on how good Rosen is rated at the combine, senior bowl and the like.

If he's the clearcut franchise QB of the future, etc? Then again...he can stomp his feet all he wants but he's coming here. There is no Yankees option (Elway) or USFL option (Kelly) for him.

If he's 1A to say, Darnold's 1B or Mayfield's 1C? Holding him for ransom seems like the best option. (that's my theory as to how he's viewed perhaps)

If his stock slips and the other's rise? Then no worries.

Wouldn’t they retain his rights for longer than a year?
