Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Ehh...

I got shy of Darnold watching him throwing wreckless INTs and losing some fumbles earlier in the season. In comparison Rosen looked a lot more competent but his injury issues do scare me some. Concussions from college are definitely taken into account even after you go pro and I do think it's a legit concern that an immobile QB like Rosen might rack up a few more and have to consider early retirement.

I'm ready to watch Darnold with a fresh set of eyes tonight. He does have some size, durability, mobility, arm strength, and decent accuracy if he stays within himself. He'll be under the gun against OSU and on a pretty big stage so whatever his true colors are, it should come through.

Right now I'm thinking Darnold is #1 if he shows out tonight, with Mayfield #2.

How many games would the Browns have won with McCown as QB this past year.

I say 3-4.

I have to agree with King mostly with the fact of Britt was useless, Coleman got hurt. I think Crowell would have had a better season since McCown can make most throws and move the offense. He wouldn't have set the world on fire, but our offense would have at least looked competent rather than horrific

My issue with McCown will always be his risky style of play and decreasing durability - 38 year olds just can't physically recover enough week after week for his style of play - but any vet quarterback would have won 5 more games just out of dumb plays Kizer made at key times. Who knows what the confidence boost of a few wins would have brought. I'd say that adds on a few more effort wins. I hate to pile on the 20 year old rookie, but so much of this was on the easily exploitable weaknesses of this roster, and QB was at the spearhead. This team can't go without a veteran QB on the roster with a good QB room rep next year. It would be suicidal.

I feel we needed some type of Veteran QB in place this season. Brown didn't do a bad job in my mind except for the fact he cut too many veterans and try to develop to many rookies at once. I would have rather had McCown start and teach Kizer and then Kizer stepped in if Injuries happened.

After watching him, I would say no friggin way..

Basically in the same situation as mizzou was against Texas, o line just over run, but Lock handled it better.. had they stayed with the hurry up offensive pace, mizzou might have pulled that out...

But if we picked up Burnett, it wouldn't puss me off...

How many games would the Browns have won with Josh McCown this season with Hue at the helm?

Zero.

McCown in 2015 under then Browns OC John DeFilippo: 93.3 QB rating

McCown in 2017 under Jets OC John Morton: 94.5 QB rating

McCown in 2016 under QB whisperer and offensive guru Hue Jackson: 72.3 QB rating

Is it sinking in yet?

Yes, indeed. Hue is the stop gap coach until Bill Cowher buys a house in Medina.

One thing about Cousins is he takes a FUCKTON of negative plays.

He gets sacked a lot, even though he takes care of the ball.
