Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
.
He's not accurate. He actually proved this at the Senior Bowl missing guys by 10 yards often.

And what about the guys he was hitting with touchdown passes? Haters are gonna be haters. And Allen will go high in the draft and be rich and you can come on here and complain all you want. Have a nice evening.:banghead:

I don't like this statman character at all because he came in with a bad attitude purposely trying to troll.

I don't think Midwestcav is anywhere near that, and we shouldn't treat him like he is.

Dude has insight on Josh Allen and Wyoming. He's also biased because of that. But until he was approached with condescension he seemed interested in civil conversation.

Let's all chill out a bit and not look to create drama that doesn't otherwise exist.

I don't want Josh Allen atop the draft. He's rough around the edges and needs to find the right situation where he can be coached up and developed. But he's obviously talented and physically gifted. To me he's a nice ball of clay for some team to mold over the next couple years.

Just not our team, imo.

So, the only explanation is that...he threw TDs?

Come on now. His accuracy is a legitimate concern. If you cannot admit that, then there is no point in discussing Allen. The last truly successful QB that had a below 60% comp in college is Drew Bledsoe.

Most of us see Kizer 2.0 when watching Allen. Jaw dropping throws followed up by real clankers. I actually like his mental make up, the fact he played in a pro style offense, his mobility and his cannon attached to his arm.

Unfortunately, his scattershot accuracy is among the worst traits of any QB in the class and with real, honest to god improvement at the combine, there is no way I am taking him in the top half of the draft. But he will go in the 1st round because teams fall in love with traits.

I'm not convinced he is anything but a Kyle Boller clone.

Brett Favre ring any bells? his completion rate was actually really bad and actually Allen put up better numbers than he did at the end of the day. I get he does have some accuracy concerns, but no one in this class is perfect, but this class likely will have 5+ guys become NFL starters and we shall see how many of them actually stick/stay in the NFL.

He has a high ceiling pro potential and cause of and how QBs always go earlier cause of that type of potential, he will end up going higher than he should. Allen's mental makeup is better than Kizer overall and is a better prospect cause of it. I think the best place for him is a Pittsburgh overall just because he would be a good replacement for Big Ben, but I don't see him falling that far and I am not sure if Pittsburgh will trade up to get him either.

Why is it everyone assumes alt for new voices on the forum? Give people some benefit of the doubt, and it is not like he isn't putting out facts that the rest of us know so I don't mind if it is an alt since if you look up a the information he is saying, you can back it up with research so he at least knows what he is talking about.

I joined because I like Larry Nance jr. and it is cool that you guys like him so much. I get carried away trying to defend Josh Allen . I have seen him in person a lot and his mechanics are actually pretty good. Plus he is a quality person as is Nance. But I can tone it down.

Just exited to talk sports with a group that I thought would be open minded. My mistake. I forget that some people don't like it when someone might know more than them and feel threatened. One thing I have not done on here is act like I know more about the Browns or Cavs than anyone else. I know my sports, I was just trying to be informative. Sometimes when I am met with hostility , I respond back the same way. It is a natural way to react. But I didn't come on here to offend anyone.

Comprehension is a pretty cool tool to have when reading other people's posts. I have put on here numerous times that Allen needs work and to sit behind a bridge qb for a year or two. If he stayed in school for another year I don't think he would improve much and has a bigger chance to get hurt. So it is best if he comes out now. None of the talking heads in the media are as harsh on Allen than some of you negatives on here. You are taking what they say and blowing it up even worse without even watching him. Nothing against a lot of you but I personally hope he goes to a team in a little better shape. It would give him a better chance to make a decent qb. And to a team that would actually want him. The kid has traits that will make your concerns about accuracy go out the window. He has a lot of tools to extend plays and cut back his picks this year by not trying to make every pass and actually throwing it out of bounds when receivers are covered. Which counts against his completion percentage. But no one talks about that, or that his receivers can't get any seperation. Or a whole slew of other things you won't see by watching a few clips of him. So basically most of you have no clue what he is about, but assume if you don't , that no one does. There isn't a qb in this draft a guy couldn't pick apart. I hear more good about him than bad, and it isn't even close.

Everyone should chill and not assume the worst in posters based on limited interactions.

See, the bolded is just impossible to me. I can recognize the other traits and admire them as well. But his accuracy is just the end of any interest in me. Guys extrodinarily rarely come to the NFL and get more accurate. Just doesn't happen.

He should go to some where where there is an entrenched starter that can allow him to sit for maybe 2 seasons. And, to me, that's not why you pick a guy 1st overall.

So while I appreciate you wanting to back your guy and respect the fact that you think he could be great, his flaws and his raw nature is not a 1st overall prospect.

Now if I am the Pats or Saints or Chargers? Yeah, I am super interested in Allen. Because he basically has no ceiling if he fixes his inaccuracy problem. But that's not a risk I am taking in the top...20 or so picks. Doesn't mean he will not go that high, just that I would not take him that high.

I was thinking him and statman were the same. Well see.

How many successful NFL QB's in recent memory had a career college completion percentage under 60%? You've listed just one -- Brett Favre. And he's a guy that retired 8 years ago. You can't list a single other guy.

Those are terrible odds. That's not to say Allen can't be successful, because it is possible he is the freak that breaks the mold. But given that the odds are so heavily stacked against a guy with that completion % succeeding in the pros, it would be foolish to spend the No. 1 overall pick on a crap shoot. He's a riskier pick because of his inaccuracy in college, and so should go lower down in the draft.

I couldn’t say this any better. Please be respectful of other posters. Believe it or not they are allowed to have a different opinion than you. It’s ok to disagree but let’s talk facts, stats, trends and leave out the feelings, gut and personal insults.
