Cleveland Indians 2018-2019 Offseason Outlook

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I didn't realize we were arguing with someone that "watched most of the games" and doesn't want to use stats and stuff.

That changes everything.

Here, New York, take our ace and 2 WAR player for a 21 year old. Suckers...

Look out, Boston!

Its never off-season for people calling peoples posts stupid, dumb, illogical. Its just a message board though, I think the guy will be alright.

It's useless talking to you. You either don't watch baseball, or are just trolling for the hell of it. You would be have to be incredibly uninformed not to know kipnis stinks and has no value. They tried to trade him last year to the mets and they didn't want him. He's only here because of the money.

You rely too much on stats. I don't need a war to tell me Edwin and Kipnis don't have it anymore. Edwin will be 37 next year. I watch most of the games. He doesn't have the bat speed to catch up to elite fastballs. He is overmatched against pitchers like Verlander, Cole, etc. That's not changing anytime soon. He is an easy out come postseason time, when up against the best pitchers. Same with Kipnis, an easy out. If war was everything, we would have killed the astros, or at least scored more runs. Kipnis had a higher war than Gonzalez, but that didn't stop Marwin from crushing us when it mattered. Wars don't mean shit when building a team. Watching the game tells you a lot more about players. Give me some guys that have leadership and some postseason success on their resume. We probably miss Napoli a lot in that regard.

If you want to win a championship you will need mlb proven players to get over the top. Not some guys in a ball or double a. And to think you're going to get a young phenom, plus a great reliever, mlb 1st baseman and a young pitching prospect in aaa is delusional at best.

That isn't delusional, that is what the current price of Kluber really is if someone wanted to get him from us. Kluber isn't going anywhere unless a team offers us something we cannot refuse especially since his price is perfect for a small market team like ours. I get you want to get a prospect you really like, but he is that, still a prospect, for as many Lindor's out there you have 4 times as many LaPorta's who just fizzle out. If Kluber wasn't a late bloomer, he would be a Hall of Fame pitcher, he has been that dominant the last few years.

I feel Carrasco, who has the shortest contract of the guys who is in our rotation, will be the one who gets traded if any of them do.

Also I don't like AZ_ a whole lot, but his baseball knowledge is actually very, very good and often times he gets it right (though he comes off as a prick too, but thats beside the point here). So heed what he says since often times he isnt far off the mark.

One guy actually ignored him for his opinion though. My goodness. He was just throwing out ideas. Damn. But yes, Kluber isnt going anywhere. Especially the Yankees. If they traded him there that might be the nail in my baseball coffin. Kipnis and his WAR can get traded for a bag of balls for all i care. If there is a lefty pitching against him in the Playoffs like Sabathia in game 5 its an automatic k. Thats all i need to see.

If you think I ignored him for his opinion, you didn’t read my post.

The issue wasn't the idea, was the fact he wanted to trade both Kluber and Kipnis for the prospect and didn't seem to care that honestly everyone else on the board agreed that Kluber would net more than just that player. I don't think the Yankees are trading the kid anyways, especially with Didi likely out a good portion if not all of next season, but I doubt we trade any of our starting pitchers without getting a MLB ready player plus a couple solid prospects back. He really underestimated what Kluber's value is and that is where the issue is with his statements is.

Even if we traded EE, Kipnis, Kluber, etc, we should still take the central division and make the playoffs, hence why I think we will trade from veterans and trade for veterans this offseason.

The whole argument is moot, because none of that was ever going to happen. With his contract and the fact hes you know, Corey Kluber, one of the faces of our franchise, it isnt gonna happen. I just felt like let him give his viewpoints, why keep arguing with him?

I still dont think he said anything ignore worthy, but thats just me.
He doesn’t seem capable of having a productive conversation, so I don’t see the point in seeing his posts.

I disagree with most of what sportscoach says, but he’ll at least talk about it with you.

I just never hit the ignore button. Maybe im a glutton for punishment. It doesnt seem serious enough for me to do that.

Funny, that’s the exact reason I’m quick to ignore. You’re right, it’s not serious, so why should I put up with dicks?

I didnt think he was being a dick though. Maybe you and me just have a different view on being a dick.lol.

If a guy isn’t willing to have a conversation and is belligerent in doing so, I don’t know what else to call it

O

I think he got more riled up when more than poster started disagreeing with him. He was posting stats and stuff, so its not like he doesnt watch the games.
