Cleveland Indians 2018-2019 Offseason Outlook

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
5. Trade Joc Pederson, Alex Wood, Dustin May, Ronnie Brito etc. for Trevor Bauer.

Another trade pulled from a dodgers forum to toss into the mix..they prefer Bauer to Kluber,,younger more upside instead of Kluber who they thought was on the downside.
Fair value?

Nope.

Pederson two years of control
Wood one year

Non starter for Cleveland.

Bellinger or fuck off.

Don’t give up one of the best pitchers in franchise history for a guy with 100 career MLB ABs and Yasiel fucking Puig.

“A guy with less than 100 MLB ABs” describes the majority of headlining players in deal for stars.

And since the Dodgers have more to offer than simply Bellinger or Verdugo and Puig, I’m not sure why you’re so adamant that those are the only two choices in a take it or leave it scenario

Well then dodgers don't get him. See how easy that was
That's what makes this a bit easier for us. Bottom line is that we don't have to trade any of our starters and I think that is why they are talking to many teams including the Rays/EE. But I agree with LA has to start with Bellinger...if they say no....there are other teams.

I'm just seeing way too many things where we're getting Yasiel Puig and I'm not sure there is a player I want on this roster less in the history of the MLB than him. If we're getting a "complimentary" outfield back, I at least want Pederson.

If the Dodgers had offered Bellinger already, I believe the deal would"ve been done already. But to think, we are getting BOTH Bellinger and Verdugo is crazy talk.

Just watched Verdugo's highlights. He really does remind me of one Michael Brantley. Looks like the same type of player.

Seems like the Indians are listening to all offers but not lowering their prices for Kluber and Bauer. If anything they are like, you want a lower price, you gotta take back Kipnis or EE. Take it or leave it. This is a good thing since either we keep the guys or we get a nice haul to retool this team.

You cant argue with his minor league stats. And nobody thought Lindor would hit close to 40 home runs, so maybe his power will improve with experience.

I like his swing and arm. Not sure on him being a headliner for Kluber though. I want Bellinger but my gut is telling me that is not going to happen.

Would anybody do this trade:

CLE gets: Alex Verdugo, Alex Wood, Joc Pederson
LAD gets: Corey Kluber, Jason Kipnis

I feel like if the Dodgers were offering Bellinger, then we'd already have a deal struck. If we can't get him, then I would demand that we can dump off Kipnis on them. We then reallocate the money we save by dumping Kipnis's deal off to re-sign Brantley, hoping that we would be able to open the checkbook back up a bit.

LF - Brantley
CF - Pederson/Martin
RF - Verdugo/Naquin
3B - Diaz
SS - Lindor
2B - Ramirez
1B - Alonso
C - Perez/Haase
DH - Encarnacion

SP - Bauer
SP - Carrasco
SP - Clevinger
SP - Wood
SP - Bieber

I would think about this, but like I've said 1000 times, I really suck ass at putting together MLB trades.

I actually kind of feel this is what the Dodgers are offering in a sense, but Cleveland won't take it since they aren't getting enough back since Pederson is so-so to me, and Wood is a free agent in 2020. I think I would take the deal with Dennis Santana and Matt Beaty rather than Alex Wood in some ways.
