Hindsight on the draft is the absolute worst. No one was pimping Klay Thompson for instance, but he was on the Cavs radar and they tried to take his brother instead. Everyone wanted to take Kanter in that draft for instance, and quite frankly we were better off with TT which many people think was a bad choice. Valanciunas was the consensus pick after Kanter was off the board, and again that might have worked out, but maybe we are ringless with that choice.

Collin is making progress, and surely Kevin Love's spacing and ball movement are a big part of that. I thought he took a step last night and showed how competitive he can be.

Something about losing ballstoppers in Burks and Hood really helped him beyond the Kevin stuff.

According to Jason Lloyd, the Cavs had a deal on the table with Sacramento for Hickson where the Kings would draft Klay at 7 and send him to the Cavs for Hickson.

Kyrie
Tristan
Klay

That would've been a hell of a draft night.

There was a deal for Klay and Curry for Kyrie too. Lol.

Lenny Wilkens put Daugherty, Hot Rod, Johnny, Harper and Price on the floor once for about five minutes. All five rookies.

That didn't go well.

Lmk if I should gravedig chicken littles.

I mean he's not exactly a superstar either. It's just been a handful of NBA level games.

The biggest thing for me, at this point, isn't even the results.....it is seeing the approach change.

3PA per game:

OCT - 1.0
NOV - 1.9
DEC - 2.4
JAN - 3.5
FEB - 5.6

That is a huge positive that he is understanding he needs to adjust his shot selection. His overall FGA have remained relatively flat during that time too.

That is a sign he is either getting good coaching and being receptive to it or he's making changes on his own. Either is a plus.

He's on pace to shoot 39% from 3 on almost 250 attempts. On pace for 90 3PT makes. In terms of projecting him forward, that honestly sends him up a level or two. That shot volume and percentage, given his age is incredibly, incredibly rare. Only 22 rookie guards in NBA history have made 80 3's in their rookie year and shot at least 39%. Sexton would be the youngest player to do it, by more than a full year.

Hopefully his assists per game would follow the same trend

Assists per game actually have trended up each month - 2.3, 2.7, 2.9, 3.1, and 3.2. Not dramatic, but a positive trend and having Love out there should only help that.
That's a 50% increase, so it's not insignificant

It's still nowhere near great either. Hell probably end up at 4 or 5 a game
