Ja and Sexton could be a Lillard and McCollum type combo in a best case scenario. I was initially against the combo but am coming around to the idea it could work with the right players around them.

Collin is good . He plays well against these physical teams.

He's not Doncic, but he has been good with a lot of highlight plays. This is a good rookie season.

Scoring 27 a few times isn't nothing.

He may be good, but he needs to work on his shot.

Out of 123 qualified nba players, he ranks 116th in fg% at 40.4%

But that stat alone is probably misleading. Kyle Lowry is 112th at 41.2%, and Ricky Rubio is 117th at 40.3% and they are good players.

For both Real Plus/Minus, and Win Shares, Sexton is 95th out of 95 qualified point guards (worst in the league) - but that is more of an overall Cleveland thing, I think.

He needs to work on 2pt fg.

His shot, like from 3, is almost 40%

Collin is good.

I agree, I think Collin will outperform a lot of people's expectations. I have seen a ton of growth to his game this season, seems to have a great work ethic and an ability to learn and improve. I think he's probably just going to keep getting better and better. I mean, at the start of the season, people said the kid couldn't shoot the 3. So, fast forward to now and the kid just set the Cavs rookie record for 3's made in a rookie season, breaking the mark set by Kyrie Irving, and there are still 16 games left in the season. The best part is that he knows that people say he can't shoot....please keep telling this man all the things he can't do.

he's played 14 more games than Kyrie did in his rookie season, if we draft one of Ja/RJ/Reddish the record will probably be broken again next season

Who would have thought Sexton could pass Kyrie for 3pm in their rookie season? Considering he would shy away from the shot early in the season it is really a testament to his ability to learn and adapt. Keep improving young bull.

He’s still raw and figuring things out. He had a very nice game last night, and the 6 assists were a welcomed site (didn’t help the Cedi had a clunker).
His three point shot is a welcomed improvement and will be the reason he can go from 6th man type guy to a solid ass starter.
I can’t wait to see him paired with Zion/Barrett.

Right now he isn't really taking any 2s except those at the rim. He still needs to learn to finish over length, but there is definitely improvement. His shot profile right now is 3s or layups.

I think it doesn't make much sense to look at his numbers all year when he has clearly improved. Advanced stats will tell you more next year. This year it tells you he wasn't a good player on one of the worst teams.

He's been contributing to winning lately.

House of highlights has an all year highlight real, and some of the things he can do are eye popping. We have an exciting young rook who is raw but not as raw as advertised and people are bummed. I don't get it.

We should be excited that he doesn't look like a bust.

Other teams announcers are amazed at his speed and ability to go by guys and he is working great with Kevin on pushing the ball. Why do I have to explain why he is cool?

I think like Cedi, Sextons finishing at the rim will become alot better when the light comes on and the game slows down for him.

Like Cedi was doing early in the season, he was predetermining the move he will make when he gets to the rim, not reacting to what the defender is giving him.

I agree that it's basically useless to apply advance stats to a player that the game hasn't slowed down for.

He only needed 9 more attempts than Kyrie to do it tho. Kyrie was a knockdown shooter and Collin was a "nonshooter". It's impressive.

Not surprising that Colin's assist numbers went up when Love and a few others shared the court with him, knocking down decent looks Colin gave them. Other teams have to account for Sexton's ability to penetrate to the rim, and they're starting to scramble out to guard him at the 3 point line.

He's not bad at all for a young rookie.

Since Kyrie played his rookie season in a shorten season, him and Sexton actually did it in similar points of their rookie seasons. Kyrie set the record in a 65 game season and last night's game was the 66th game of the season for the Cavs.
