Cousins Demands to be Traded

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
To be fair to DMC, he only has isolations run for him. They throw him the ball on an island and say "go score." I can't remember the last time I've seen him in a PnR, and it wouldn't matter because the ball handler is always looking to get to the rim. Im on the side that agrees with bringing him on. It would be easier to do that then hope for another lotto pick, or that our pick is #1. Wouldn't need a guy like Drummond. DMC-TT-Kyrie-'12 lotto pick is pretty damn good.

i just hope the kings front office realizes they need to blow that damn thing up before we hit the deadline

even then i still don't think av + crap gets it done but whatever

I can't believe he's even on the floor. He looks like he's going through the morning walk through...

Cousins deserve another chance on another team. He has not played with a pure point guard for a while. Jamison and Parker + top 5 protected pick in '14, plus their own pick this year for Salmons and Cousins.

so basically you're only offering what will probably be a mid 1st in the 2014 draft....ya that isn't going to fly

Still think it "could," in theory, be done with Varejao. I just have a tough time imagining the Kings would be excited to market a frontcourt containing no offensive ability.

not only that, but i'm still not sold on them targeting a 29 year old. they are still years away from actually being relevant and by that time varejao will be nearly useless. they're in the same situation as the cavs, really.

i think if they trade cousins they'll try to get the best young prospect possible or just give the draft another shot. not sure exactly how good a package teams will offer....but that seems preferable to getting a 29yo who won't really make that much of a difference overall

Lol. We aren't getting that draft pick. Smh.

We aren't getting it this year. So? That really isn't a surprise. I don't think it surprises Grant either. We'll get it near the end of it's availability. I don't have the problem with that that some of you do. Think of it as say a 12th pick in an average draft when we are in contention and trying to add one of those "stars" that keep getting thrown around. We don't use the pick to actually draft a player. We use it as one part of a set of assets to get that years version of the Ray Allen trade. Basically trading for a player at the start of the downside of his career. But, still effective enough in his play at this point to be good for about 3 years of contention. A player still at the level of being good enough to be a starter on a NBA Championship level team. One of the pieces we might still be missing at that time.

Apparently the Nets are interested in Cousins.

Given the guard rotation of Jimmer/Evans/Thornton plus SAC's love of offensive players... maybe Cousins for Lopez?

With some luck (ie: Bynum getting injured again or LAL front office developing a massive hard-on for him bc of his recent play), the Nets could be in an insanely good position going forward. And by insanely good position I mean "potentially become the best team in thel eague."

What if we got them to remove their restrictions on this pick by sending our 2012 for Cousins.. We'd still have an early.pick and we would get a young high ceilinged Center.. We then draft a wing like Gilchrist/Barnes/PJIII with the Sac pick.
Irving
AP/Gee/Gilchrist.. Or
PJIII/Barnes/Casspi
TT
Cousins

TBH I couldn't see Sac doing that simply because I believe their pick will be higher than ours this year. They really are a mess.

I think we would have to send Andy as well. I'm not even sure if its worth it for us... I think so, Andy for Cousins in a straight up deal and we take on a filler I presume. Then swap picks. Idk. I probably do it. I doubt Sac does.

The only way we trade them our pick imo is in a rights to swap picks on our end. As in if we draft 6th, and they're drafting 4th we can swap with them. Otherwise it is too much for Cousins. I want him on the team, but Andy plus an unprotected pick for him is to much. A more realistic way imo is to trade for DMC and get them to lower the protection on the pick from 14th to top 10 protected, and 8th the next year, 6th the next year, 5th the next year, and then unprotected.
