Damn, Jimmy G this is some serious good quarterbacking.

Wait, we're back on this because:

1) LaCanfora is stirring up shit because he's looking for relevancy.
2) BB is using back-channels to keep the price high.
3) You know something is being worked on.

My thoughts are that the Browns and Patriots explored the framework of a deal a month or 2 back. As others have said, no dire need to make a deal immediately from either side. I think it is very possible Garoppolo is dealt Wednesday or Thursday. Whether he's dealt to the Browns or not is a different story.

I don't see how the Patriots max Garoppolo's value anymore than it is right now. They can run the risk of keeping him and trading him in training camp if another starter gets hurt. They could get a good haul there but that is a risk. Once we get past that point, Garoppolo's stock drops significantly. He'll be a free agent and the Patriots either have to pay him as a starter to be the back up or let him walk for nothing.

If we could find a way to leave this draft with a haul of Garrett/Garappolo/and an offensive playmaker or elite safety at 12 I'd say we're already in the best position since we came back in 1999.

I'd prefer two 2nd's, but if that were accurate and I didn't like what was left on the board at 12...I'd consider it. Possibly during the draft.

I know basically nothing about pick value or if teams would trade a QB during the draft.

I really just know that I like Jimmy a lot as a QB prospect and am really hoping they're bringing back the weiner dog races between rounds at the draft this year.

Yeah, still would prefer to use 12 on a non-QB, but I'd rather use it for Jimmy than any QB in the draft.

It still seems like this is not happening. At least from the more reputable sources, it isn't. It'd be shocking to see the Browns surrender #12 on a player not in the draft.

What will be interesting to me is how New England goes about wiggling back into the first round, or somewhere higher than 72. Sounds like Butler isn't going to New Orleans & Jimmy G isn't moving... Hmm.

#12 still seems high, IMO. If the Browns don't covet 1 specific QB over another, you're still going to be able to get a top 3-4 QB prospect at #33, based on most mocks i've seen, All drafts have us picking a QB at #12, usually the first or second QB prospect taken.

It will be interesting to see how everything shakes out but i think you still have to take the BPA at #12. There is no surefire can't miss QB prospect this year and we have tons of holes to fill.
