It depends on the gun laws of where he was arrested. Looks to be a misdemeanor charge just on the fact he was released without bail. Also we dont know if this weapons were registered or not. Just because a weapon is registered doesnt mean you get to carry all three. It seems this should be ok, my guess would be plea bargain, couple thousand dollar fine, and community service along with an unsupervised probabtion.

Why the heck would you carry two handguns and a shotgun on a motorcycle in the nations capitol? This is just ignorant, and we will be lucky to have him for next season. Anybody know what the NBA's weapons policy is?

With a quick google search I found this

The NBA has suspended Portland guard Sebastian Telfair for two games without pay for violating the league's firearms policy

Didnt look at dates or anything on the article though..

I don't know if anyone remembers this, but...

In April of 2007, Telfair was arrested after police found a loaded gun in his car. Telfair later pleaded guilty to criminal possession of a weapon and was sentenced to three years probation. On October 14, 2008, the NBA gave Telfair a three-game suspension for the incident.

Three games would be a lucky situation for us. The gun was indeed loaded and he had no license for it, but also wasn't holding a shotgun.

Article VI of the CBA:

Section 9. Firearms.

(a) Whenever a player is physically present at a facility or venue owned, operated, or being used by a Team, the NBA, or any League-related entity, and whenever a player is traveling on any NBA-related business, whether on behalf of the player’s Team, the NBA, or any League-related entity, such player shall not possess a firearm of any kind. For purposes of the foregoing, “a facility or venue” includes, but is not limited to: an arena; a practice facility; a Team or League office or facility; an All-Star or NBA Playoff venue; and the site of a promotional or charitable appearance.

(b) Any violation of Section 9(a) above shall be considered conduct prejudicial to the NBA under Article 35(d) of the NBA Constitution and By-Laws, and shall therefore subject the player to discipline by the NBA in accordance with such Article.

Unsafe lane change? That sounds like some BS.

If you have guns and you are moving them then they will likely be on your person if you are stopped. If you have 3 guns on you then you are probably taking them somewhere. If they wind up being properly registered then it wont be a real big deal.

Alan Henderson left a gun in his carry on luggage before he signed with the Cavaliers and besides paying a fine and getting taken into custody at the time it wasnt a big deal.

Let the facts come out since guns are still legal in this country.
