Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His advanced impact stats suggest he’s a 3rd PG in this league. His BPM is one of the lowest ever for a guy who has started 7 games and played 188 minutes+. His RPM numbers are onnce again bottom of the barrel. He cannot help any team win in any meaningful way anymore.
Thats essentially what I was suggesting but did so while refusing to look up numbers or bringing any facts to the table... At this point why change my approach ?

Rose is a dammed if you do and if you do not type guy. His personality does not fit well here and his game might follow suit. He really needed to be that leader that his injury took away. He is still in a bad mental place knowing his body is giving up on him in terms of sports. I would have him still run the second unit because he can be effective there more so than a starter.

Again this is on Lue or whoever to know how to use him right. Once IT gets back and if Wade and Shump and Korver keep up the good play. It might be hard to find how he fits, the sad thing is he still is young and maybe can learn to be a piece and not a focus.

Rose has his skills. Once IT returns, yo u use him where it makes sense.

I wanted to post something similar, but priceFTW beat me to the punch by a mere 2 days. I will take half-credit for his post regardless due to the similarity in our names.

Dude has brittle bone disease
I think it's more of a case of trying to both play it safe with him/sync up his return with ITs

They're sort of settling into a little groove lately and why break it twice in the next month with two separate returns.

They'll ride it out with this group for another 2-3 weeks and then find a way to mesh IT, Rose, and TT back around the same time

D Rose out at least 2 more weeks...

In other news, IT should be back in 2 weeks.

I feel Rose is being held out until IT is back so he can save face for when Rose doesnt start.

You don’t hold someone back to sync up with another returning player or because the team is in a groove. That just doesn’t happen. Face it he’s brittle and can’t play through minor aches and pains. It’s been his biggest criticism his entire career.

Tearing your ACL and meniscus' aren't "minor aches and pains." The knock is he can't stay healthy, which is true. But let's not pretend like it's HIS fault he's not playing.

Says who? If he needs a little more recovery time and they're interested in what he can bring as a backup pg in June more than now, wjycrush hin bsck to a team that has already had so many lineup and rotation changes?

It allows him to completely recover and allows the guys that have been playing the continue to just be comfortable and have more of a defined role for a few weeks.

Then instead of having to rework the lineup and rotations three separate times to bring Rose, TT, and IT back, you just do it once or twice.

Now all that said, sure Rose is brittle and all the more reason to push his return back until this particular ankle injury is fully healed and at full strength.

Even better would be trading him and finding a way to acquire Patrick Beverley after the Clippers continue to slide. But that can't happen for 4 weeks at the earliest

Is he brittle? Yes.

Do they hold players out for various reasons even when the can play. All the fucking time.

Only Rose, the coaching staff and training staff really know the reason, but dont put it past them. Rose wants a big contract, not being able to beat Shump out for starting PG looks bad. They might be doing Rose a favor.

I’m not talking about his ACL. It’s his other small injuries that keep him out for much longer than any other player. He doesn’t like to play through pain. This isn’t new.
