Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
This is on Kolby Altman to handle. That said even if we re-integrate him, he's likely to go down again.

So is he gonna quit when he gets hurt again? Can’t trust this guy.

It makes me wonder why he doesn't wear a ankle and knee brace? I'm not talking about compression brace but carbon fiber and metal support brace. Is there some rule against it?

You just Google some images of him attacking the rim and make yourself cringe to see some of the positions he puts his legs in. No ones legs should be put to that abuse let alone someone with a history of injuries.

I once suffered an ankle injury that lasted 9 months. The same injury kept happening over and over after that. I had a smart old man tell a dumb kid why I was suffering this injury. He said always stay on your toes and aim your driving foot where you want to be.

Best advice I ever got. It didn't feel natural at first but works. Take LeBron for example. Look at him driving to the hoop. If he drives right or left his foot he pushes off of is on the front of his shoes and aimed towards the rim. This allows his driving force off his foot to use his natural motion front to back. The front of his shoe can also act as a pivot. It's almost like sprinting out of the box during track but while making cuts left or right.

Look at Rose he plants his foot flat not aimed where he wants to be and his ankles and knees absorb the force in a side to side motion

At the very least would hope that he would change his game for the team and his future in the league. Limited mins, more time being a facilitator and less time attacking the rim, lock down defender. This might not bring him the big contracts he is use to but at this rate there won't be any. Might as well start to adapt now.

Wade's first 8 games.

7 points on 37% from the floor..

Imagine if we gave up on him after that?

The great thing about having Rose is no Calderon (he was -13 in a 5 point win), some nights you can rest Wade and we can take our time with IT. Still need another player with Shump out 2 months.

I like what Jose has done, but even he started out worse as well.

Now the issue is Rose needs to get in shape and rhythm. We already have that. So Rose needs to buy in.

I just like Rose as a reason to rest Wade, a reason to not rush IT back and its good to have another player outside of LeBron that can explode to the rim.

Some nights LeBron is going to lack energy. Be nice to have Rose out there being aggressive. Our starters haven't been that great during this run.

Also if Rose really does look like a problem or a bad fit then get rid of him.

I'm sure OKC would give up a 2nd round pick for him. They need all the bench help they can get. I just want to see him get another shot first.

I do not want this dude back. The team has finally been playing good without him. If he plays he needs to get limited minutes. Not to mention it will be hard enough to get IT rolling when IT comes back this month. The Cavs don't need Rose's issues right now.

If I were Lue, I would bench Rose until the Cavs start losing games. Rose must have just realized how much money he will lose from Addias by not playing.

The Cavs' focus right now should be winning and preparing for IT's return.

I wonder if there’s anything in his adidas contract that says he has to be on a team to collect his money or could he be a FA? Wouldn’t be surprised if we eventually cut him and he sits at home collecting checks without signing with anyone and doesn’t officially retire.

I wonder if he was one of the guys that didn't want Dwyane... because it makes too much sense to suspect him (hurt his minutes, took his '2nd unit leader' role, why would anyone here already look at it as a bad thing, etc.)...

There's some rumor spreading that if Rose does not play he loses $70 million from Adidas. It's hard to market player who isn't playing unless you're Jordan or Penny.

Yeah but does he actually have to be on a roster? What if no one signs him. That’s what I’m saying. Could be a loop hole. We could cut him and he could just never sign with anyone again.

I hope Rose comeback. I want to see how he plays off the bench.

I can’t lie, I’m VERY worried that Rose is going to come back and absolutely crater our D-Wade led bench, which has been the biggest success of the team thus far.

With the way our team looks right now I want nothing to do with Rose. He adds nothing that we need, especially with IT coming back soon. He's good for depth purposes in case of injury, but beyond that I don't see a role for him.

Wade and Rose bench lineup will never work.

Wade makes that lineup work because he is anchoring the offense from the post overpowering and outsmarting backup PGs. With Rose back, the backup PGs are going to defend Rose instead and Wade will no longer have the same physical advantage, and even if he does, it's not going to be nearly as effective because Rose is useless without the ball. If Rose has the ball, Wades defender is going to sag off of him and if Wade has the ball, Rose's defender is going to sag off of him and as a result we lower our penetration percentage and cutting percentage because we no longer have space to work with... things that the 2nd unit feast on.

Rose needs to be situational, anything more and it's a net negative.
