Diet and Workout Routines

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Nope. You can either 1. Gain or 2. Cut. You ether have a caloric surplus or deficit.

If you're new to lifting you'll make some gains while cutting, but that's not how it works after a point.

Well in order to lose 2 pounds a week I'd have to net 1700 carbs.

Also not so sure what a good target weight would be for me at this point. I was thinking high 160's. So about 15 lbs of loss.

That's really up to you. I tend to prwfer to be bigger than to have abs, but if you have your shirt off a lot, get the abs.

Its not possible for me to give you advice as is subjective, and your weight doesn't mean much without knowing your body fat percentage.

1700 is doable. Complex carbs (veggies) will keep you most full with the least amount of calories. I eat a few bags of spinach or broccoli etc a day.

Stay away from sugar, stay away from simple carbs (bread). Salad is good if you can find a good low calorie dressing.

The only simple carbs I eat are on my Sandwiches. Sugar and carbs mess with your insulin levels. You get some quick energy but you crash shortly after and you'll crave more sugar and carbs to get you that extra energy.

I go with turkey burgers cut up in my veggies. Protein is king. It's how you maintain and grow muscle. I'm doing that, sandwiches, lots of eggs (5 scrambled in the morning, 4 hardboiled throughout the day)

What do you think about swimming to add muscle? I want lean muscle as opposed to bulk.

The diet I can get figured out once I move. I already eat eggs every morning I'll have to add more.

Should I add a protein powder for after hoops and swims? Maybe add light lifting once a week? I don't know what muscle groups to target, and I have no idea how to keep solid posture or even the workouts for that matter.

I'm new to all of this shit.

Theres no different ways to gain muscle. leanness is consequence of low bodyfat. Swimming will grow your lats, but weight lifting will do it better.

Again, can either gain or lose. Get bigger or get smaller. You're gaining muscle when you're getting bigger, and with that, naturally some fat. When you're losing, you're losing mainly fat and some muscle.

Diet is really the most important thing to determine. You can swim for hours but if your diet sucks it won't matter

My shoulder is OK!!

@guitarlifter if you run across someone with this problem again, I've got a great exercise to suggest.

I'm going all out. Been cutting, down to 185. Been hovering here but all lifts going up. I forgot tren recomps you.

So I loaded up on more. I'm gonna cut another week or two and then switch to bulk. Finish with an npp cycle immediately after. I know that's not advisable, but what are ya gonna do.

So you're just full on cool with roiding?

That can't be healthy for you in the long run right?

I don't recommend it for everyone. It's certainly a commitment, and not everyone can handle the sides

The only side effects I have to worry about are acne (which I control) and sperm count (and i got my ex pregnant twice mid cycle).

I essentially only take a dose of testosterone a little higher than what a normal person produces for most of the year. There are heart problems to eventually consider, but there's no conclusive evidence that you actually need to consider it Critically. It could be more attributable to the typical diet a bodybuilder utilizes.

Other than that, testosterone actually does make you feel better. There are genuine benefits to it. We stop producing it as we age. @cavman is about to go on it

That I am. I'm excited to feel normal again and bang with some force. Low testosterone has been a nightmare.

I would highly recommend What The Health on Netflix. Newer different version of Forks and Knives. Goes way deeper than wieght loss. I have been about 90 percent plant fruit, and seed base since late march. I lost about 24 pounds and I am doing things phyisicaly like I was in my mid 20s. I am 37, so this is pretty amazing. I am sure there are differing opinions but this documentary is def worth your time.

I juts hope you can get to a good dosage. I hear they can be pretty liberal with prescriptions.

I'll watch it. I'm more hesitant about fruit. I don't feel it's filling and I think it spikes insulin. But the plants, fuck yea man.

Yeah I am interested in your opinion. The doc is pretty interesting. I don't think everyone can do vegan realistically 100 percent of the time, but I have now seen several documentaries from experts that have done studies that go into some pretty good detail about some of the dietary myths that exist.

I don't want go into too much detail but there are a ton of misconceptions about protein and where to get it that this documentary goes into some detail on.

I go August 1st, and my doctor thinks she wants to start off slow at first and ramp up if all goes well. I'm a little bit nervous to start it so soon before my surgery on August 17th. I'll see what they say and use their recommendation.

I have such trouble with seeds, it's like firing off shotguns into the toilet for me. I need a diet so bad though I'm willing to eat anything if I can feel better.

Get up to 200mg a week. :)
