Diet and Workout Routines

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm also thinking I want to go with injections instead of the rub as long as I can do them myself without going twice a week.
I honestly hate fucking injections, but it seems preferable if you have to go the fuck in for it.

Unless the nurse is hot. Then take that rubdown

Just like with sex, I'll be rubbing myself down. Plus any time the nurse or the doctor is hot it's a procedure in my ass.

I only have a couple weeks left of Insanity. I've had some good results, especially around the waist, but haven't really dropped that much weight? My body looks better now than it did when I started and my energy levels are through the roof. I'm not dropping weight the way that I thought I would. My diet is clean and haven't had a cheat day/meal in over two weeks. Any idea why this is happening? Should I stop lifting for a bit to see if that helps?

For you Beachbody people: Shaun T's new program "Shaun Week" is a decent workout, some of the moves are a bit complicated, especially the first time going through it.

Did you just start exercising or did you do it previously and jump back on with this program?

You can't bulk and cut at the same time, or recomp, but muscle memory is a thing and starters can recomp.

I would highly recommend What The Health on Netflix. Newer different version of Forks and Knives. Goes way deeper than wieght loss. I have been about 90 percent plant fruit, and seed base since late march. I lost about 24 pounds and I am doing things phyisicaly like I was in my mid 20s. I am 37, so this is pretty amazing. I am sure there are differing opinions but this documentary is def worth your time.
So I'm a third in.

The problem with diet is that it's nearly impossible to study. I listened to a podcast that specifically dealt with this. Guy was debunking essentially 70 years of generally accepted dietary principles. Got 4m$ to conduct his study.

They couldn't control the sample populations diets. There are so many factors to control for, and people are so not static in their behavior and diet etc. that conclusively asserting item x or item y is the primary determinant in the manifestation of cancer is just impossible.

I am willing to believe there is a link to cancer through diet, especially meat. But there are many conflicting reports, for example, that there is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. This documentary doesn't address that.

There are so many conflicting reports on diet that its mere consideration encourages significant consternation.

I just got to the part where they're talking about America telling black people to drink milk, and they're often lactose intolerant. This logic has concluded in a lot of accusations of white supremacy and milk = racist, when these suggestions came out when black people were a vast vast minority and the researchers probably didn't know the proclivity within the community to be essentially allergic. My mom is also lactose intolerant. It's not a conspiracy to kill moms, or my mom. She also knows she shouldnt drink milk. Didn't take her long to figure that out.

@ajz20 I don't mean to discredit it, that's not even my position. It's a good documentary. The exposure of lobbying is pretty damning.

I dont think there's a conclusive answer. Obviously, don't eat fast food, at least. But there's plenty of other reasons not to eat fast food already.

Its scary that we can't know the answers. I wish Documentaries would address the steal men arguments from the opposition rather than just introduce doubt, etc, without a response.

The representative that ended the interview early sucked at his job.

You should watch "thank you for smoking" if you haven't. Lots of parallels.

So I broke the 5th metacarpal in my right hand a couple of months ago. Have been out of my hard cast for maybe two weeks now. I was planning on bulking up a bit this summer (I'm 6'4'' and at ~170 pounds) but my injury threw a huge wrench in this.

I've been getting a ton of protein in my diet, but I really cannot lift with my right hand yet, so I'm looking for suggestions on what to do. It's only the first week of July, and I theoretically have 6-7 weeks before school picks back up on me hardcore. I'm hoping by this time next month I'll be able to at least do light weights with my right hand, but as of now I simply cannot.

Any suggestions for exercise (diet too! always looking for new protein/bulking suggestions) that I can do for the time being?

Fucking up your hand is pretty rough. I think I've had the injury before.

You can try using say, the straps on machines intended to be used around feet and legs, and hook them around your wrists. They sell attachments specifically for situations like yours, but that's the free way to obtain the same effect.

Anyone have a functional trainer at home? It's pretty expensive ($2k) but those that have them, worth it? Seems like they are really versatile.

Haulin' Hooks are a good option (lpgmuscle.com sells them). You can deadlift as much as you can without even gripping the bar because the hooks are attached to a strap, which is attached to your wrist. The wrists are plush, so they're comfy and don't dig in like other straps can. Rows are also possible with these. I suppose curls might be possible too. It just depends on the position of the hooks and making sure that barbells/dumbbells aren't falling out of the hooks if the hooks turn the wrong way as you lift the bar up.

Probably can find on CL if you wait long enough. This brings to mind a lot of things:

-A gym membership should be around $1/day and will likely yield a greater spectrum of yoga pants asses and a bit of a social scene. IIRC, for a newly single guy like you, that'd be my personal recommendation.
-If I were going to divvy up $2K to spend on equipment, I'd get a set of adjustable dumbells, a barbell with 225 lbs of weight, and a solid bench. I'd then look for a local trainer who emphasized that they cover both fitness and nutrition, and I would pay them once to come over and clean out your pantry & fridge, give you a list of good snacks/meals, then develop a full-body workout routine that you could do in conjunction with cardio. It takes 21 days to build a habit, so really the critical thing is getting into a rhythm with adding fitness/nutrition to your life.
--There's very few things that are as important as your mental/emotional/physical health. If a $2K machine makes you work out even 1 more time per week, that's totally worth it.

Nothing as motivational as seeing the girls you want to impress everyday while working out, and guys that are in better shape than you.

I'm married, but damn is it tough being at the gym with some of the girls that have unbelievable bodies. It's tough because they always seem to gravitate around me whenever I work out.

Yepp. I go to the 24 hour fitness all the strippers work out at. It's nuts. They're practically wearing their stage gear.
