Diet and Workout Routines

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not a sandwich guy. Typically, I eat eggs (mostly whites) and some fruit in he morning. My lunch consists of grilled chicken with a salad and dinner is a protein with a side. My snacks between meals is a handful of almonds and maybe some string cheese. I'll throw down a couple protein smoothies as well. My diet isn't perfect, but it's not awful.

I'm just curious to find out more about about how he uses veggies. If it isn't a salad or steamed broccol/carrots with dip- I have no idea what to do with vegetables. That's about all I eat with them, like to expand a bit.
Just an aside - If you're cutting, it may be easier if you stay away from shakes. They aren't very filling in my opinion.

How I incorporate more veggies: (I will never give up meat. I don't care what shitty documentary people show me.)

always have a plain side. easiest way

lettuce wraps to keep carbs down

load omelettes with veggies

cauliflower pizza crust with tons of veggies

veggie bowls with quinoa/sweet potato base

chili

zucchini "noodles"

blackened brussel sprouts

I know it's a fruit but I sometimes use an apple as "bread" mainly with PB, but I use it with meat, too.

classic stir fry. so many damn ways to get different flavors.

I had a downward spiral this past week. Pizza and cheesy bread did me in. And I have been craving sweets, but not really giving in to it. Incredible what eating poorly for 2 days does to the body. I had a BBQ at my boss' house last night and my one manager who's a pastry chef made an oreo cherry cheesecake. I had one slice. And then went home and got on my Total Gym. I also made this detox smoothie today. I generally feel like crap after eating badly.

I really need to up my workouts to 4x a week.

Tren makes you feel terrible. Genuinely.

My weight is still at 185, abs are getting defined. Much bigger.

Shoulder is off and on fucked.

I am so sick of my meals. Hopefully a couple more weeks.

If you make your cheat day every 9 days, you'll speed up your progress considerably.

How in the hell do you deal with the muscle soreness @David. My arms are killing me for a week after a workout.

Its fucking brutal at the start because your body doesn't know what the fuck you're doing. I literally never feel sore now. I don't think you feel sore even if off cycle. You'll have to deal with it for the first few times you exercise a muscle group

To whoever makes lettuce wraps: how?

I tried today. Took my lunch with me in a plastic baggie. It just could have been trash by the time I got around to unwrapping it.

Not sure if you did this, but make sure you baggage the lettuce separate from everything else. Sometimes I even place it in a separate container with a small ice pack to try and keep the crispiness up as much as possible.

I basically do my lettuce wraps as if you were at a Thai place. I cook up whatever I am making (could be ground turkey with veggies/sauce. Could be shredded chicken. W/e you want) and place it all in a container by itself (it is by itself on a plate at a restaurant). Place the lettuce in another bag/container by itself. Then place any extra condiments in a container by itself (guac, hummus, etc.)

And you're literally just wrapping it? This is a mess

I buy the Romaine stalks at Kroger:

I peel them and keep the firm ones, the others I keep aside and chop up for salads.

You literally scoop shit in it and hold it kind of like a piece of Za and eat it. Not messy at all.

My next boat I am probably gonna make gyro's

I'm going to try this.

Been playing a few games of racquetball like the old man that I am becoming. It's dope. It's pretty good exercise and there's a quick learning curve. Would recommend.

Back on my diet-and-exercise-that-will-probably-only-last-a-week

lifted Monday, ran the dogs yesterday (only ~1.25 miles), soccer today in the stupid ass "real feel" 94 degree muggy no wind weather, and ran the dogs, and about to lift

tracking calories n shit. only 1200 calories monday and tuesday and only like 500 so far today and i'm not even hungry wtf. though once i add in alcohol its more like 1700 last few days. i need to drink less. but only eating good food. limiting carbs and only good carbs - apple a day, veggies, and then a bit of brown rice or quinoa or sweet potato.

my wife said she would have sex with me more if i got my V back. that would be nice but really i just want to reduce stress/anxiety, sleep better, and be in shape for soccer. and have better bowel movements. i literally have to sit on the can for 1-1.5 hrs every morning. last few days have been great though! got to work early! more energy throughout the day! get to come home earlier!

What do your daily meals look like? Would you mind posting some examples?

Im never going to give up meat, but am curuous as to what you're eating on a daily basis. I'm trying to incorporate more veggies into my routine.

i'm an on-again-off-again dieter but here's a couple tips since i love cooking and love cooking veg (and meat)

1. make them taste better. microwaving frozen broccoli and cauliflower sucks and you won't want to eat that. try roasting veggies instead. almost just as easy - throw on sheet pan, toss with olive oil, season, stick them in. develop carmelization. cook until done and keep cooking. they will develop a deep, sweet, nuttier, more complex flavor. roasted cauliflower, broccoli, carrots, brussel sprouts are all fantastic (edit also asparagus). it's even better if you roast meat on top the veg. let the fat drip down into the veg, take the meat out to rest and carve, then roast the veg by itself. now you have all the above but they are swimming in meat drippings. seriously, i've roasted chicken and beef this way, and i literally enjoy eating the veg more than the meat.

2. add a bunch of veg to dishes that call for veg but not a lot of veg. i just made a quinoa salad, typically it would just be spotted with veg, but i adjusted ratios so it's more like 2/3 veg and 1/3 quinoa if that. same thing goes for stir fry, typically the rice is the star, just quarter the rice and triple the veg/meat.
