So if the Rockets trade T-Mac, what direction does that take the franchise? With Artest on a 1-year deal, they are built to win THIS YEAR. Trading McGrady for our scraps won't get them anywhere close to that goal and would signal a rebuild.

Without McGrady this year they are 4-3, which not only isn't a great record but it's a pretty small sample size to judge. Last year without McGrady they were 8-7. Again not a great record. Don't forget McGrady was present and playing for all but the first game of the 22 game winning streak.

The evidence does not point to the Rockets being better off without McGrady. If anything, it points to the Rockets being better off without Yao Ming, who was absent during the final 10 straight wins in the 22 game win streak last year.

Dickey Simpkins, I have a question for you: how could Wally and a pick stand up to what Phoenix and/or Charlotte received on this deal?

I kind of think these guys could have been ours if we dangled Hickson, but I'd rather hang on to Hickson than deal with Human Charmin coming with Bell. Dudley, though... I have had him on my radar since his BC days.

But what you do not know is that it does not hurt them either. They have 23 million dollars free for 2010. If VC is still at a high level in 2010-11 then why not have him + LBJ on their own team instead of ours?
