If we were 3-17. Why fix whats not broken.

I would have to agree with those who voted for 'if he's the best available player at the deadline' in regard to J Rich. He (J Rich) played a good game against the Bucks and even Lebron has had some off nights on back to back games.

IMO, winning by 20 or 30 doesn't make a difference. MB was just trying to see if Kinsey had enough handles to be an emergency PG or for garbage time one and we got the answer -- not at this time.

Only if he's the best available when/if we trade.

I don't REALLY want him though, Not the guy I want.

I don't really want anyone else, Why trade someone and ruin the chem. we have?

JRich isn't a great player but he is a good player..

The problem with acquiring him is that he isn't close to being a player that is worth nearly $40 million over the next 3 years... He's making max-type player money and is being severely overpaid... I have no problem with a player making that, it's just when a player makes than and he's far from performing on that level it's kind of stupid to want to take that on..

I never got the big infatuation with JRich... BW mentioned the Cavs have interest in him but I think it's likely to stay as that: interest..

JRich doesn't really fit what this team needs... He can get his own shots but he is really just a glorified jump-shooter... He doesn't get to the rim nearly enough (especially with athleticism), can't create for others, doesn't rebound and doesn't defend...

Giving up a piece like Wally for him doesn't make too much sense, IMHO... He doesn't put this team over the top... He's a talented scorer but that's about all..

And I don't see Charlotte giving him up anyway... They gave up a #8 pick in the draft two years ago and they're trying to move Wallace not him...

There was nothing broken with the Pistons prior to the trade for Rasheed Wallace, they were a back to back 50 win team before they ever made the trade. You improve, regardless of the team being broken or not.

Don't want.

Funny that this was mentioned. I TiVo'd and just finished the game. Honestly, he looks like he's put on 25 pounds since his days on the west coast. He used to have a nice frame, and moved well off the ball. He did notta tonight. He looks physically like he's 35 years old.

No thanks.

If he is cheap at the deadline, which I doubt, then sure. He isn't a great defensive player, but the Cavs offense would be killer, and he is definately a big improvement over Wally. Can you imagine an offense with an unbelieveable offensive player in LeBron, with great shooters in Mo, Boobie, Delonte, and J-Rich around him, Z's great jumper and offensive boards, and Ben and Andy's hustle. That would be the best offensive team in the league. It may be a risk for our defense, so I'm not sure. If Ferry was convinced that Mike Brown could teach J-Rich some defense, and fast, then pull the trigger.

I'd rather have a big man, or defensive presence, though.

This board cracks me up. If J-Rich had 20 points tonight (a normal game for him), everybody would be driving his bandwagon to Cleveland. But since he had a subpar tonight, he's all of a sudden a bad fit and one dimensional. A slasher who can shoot is not one dimensional. Those who would rather have Wallace confuse me as well.

I've been saying he's one dimensional long before tonight, and he's not a slasher, he's a shooter that occasionally goes to the basket, he's as much a slasher as Michael Redd. Also, he's one dimensional because when he's not scoring he's not doing much else, he's not going to go out on an off shooting night and set his teammates up, he's not going to facilitate and run the offense. He's just going to stand out by the 3 line and wait, we're talking about a guy that launched 600 3s last year, that is the definition of one dimensional.

abuc on a roll tonight

I too have serious questions about JRich's fit on this squad....

the more abuc posts the more I fall in love with vincent lamar

You don't judge them on one game, especially against us, a good defensive team. You're right. However, we all know Jason Richardson can score the basketball. I honestly would take Vince Carter over him, and maybe Redd over Carter(Redd's contract ends in 2010, by the way), so it'd be interesting to see if we get one of the three guys mentioned.

But I voted Only if he's the best available when we trade.

Redd's contract does NOT end in 2010. He has a player option for 2010-2011, for 18.3 million. There's no reason he would decline it.

Not true at all..

Watching his game (and Gerald's) it's become evident that those are two players that are ball stoppers... Now, J-Rich does have the ability to hit the open shot, and Wallace is an effective post player, but when trying to picture these guys in a Cavaliers uniform, I don't see a fit based on their style.. In fact, if you watch them a bit more closely, you'll see Wallace has been more of a slasher than J-Rich as of late...

Even after VC was terrible against us, I was still of the belief he would be a nice fit here...

Although I will say, if I had my choice of virtually anyone, I would take Raja Bell... Not only does he expire in 2010, but he's a defense first guy with nice size at that 2 guard spot and can shoot the ball...

If he brings us a championship I'm all for it. At this point i'm not worried about guys not being able to pay defense because Mike Brown will make them. But we have to give Mike time to work with him on that so I wouldnt really want him at the deadline.

Ive said it before and i'll say it again the sooner we trade for someone the better, especially if its wally. We need team chemistry 75% of the season not 50%.

If we aqquired J-Rich he doesnt have to step in right away because Delonte is playing great ball right now. J-Rich is a good player now imagine how good he'll be when you put him next to LBJ. LBJ makes everyone around him better so im not worrying about who we bring in.

Ferry and Mike will land on a guy thats is best for the team and franchise and if that happens to be J-Rich then so be it.

I don't understand why we would want him. Does JRich take Delonte's starting spot away? Because he will not come off the bench. What kind've of signal does that send to the rest of the team? I think its a bad idea to trade at this point. It seems like people here want to trade just for the sake of trading. Ya, Wally is a great trade asset, but he is also a key piece to a damn good basketball team.

We've had this 8 game winning streak in which our margin of victory has been well over 17 points. Thats ridiculous. Don't trade, we have incredible chemistry and no egos. Let me repeat, NO Egos. None. Its almost impossible to have an NBA team with no egos. The teams with great chemistry and no egos are always the best teams (i.e. Spurs).

Besides, the guy we get in a trade will take way to long to mesh. Why not just sit back and enjoy what we get to watch. Why do we have to trade trade trade trade. Everyone always wants what they can't have.

J-Rich is a product of that Don Nelson system to some degree.......
