I was never a huge fan of getting J-Rich. I could see him disrupting the chemistry the 1st unit has pretty easily. Delonte has great shot selection, J-Rich..not so much. Delonte also can swing over and check quick PG's when needed, such as when we play the Celtics or Pistons, when we can put Mo on guys who use screens like Ray Allen or Rip. With J-Rich while he has more size, it would put more pressure on Mo to defend quick PG's, and Delonte has held his own against larger guards anyways.

Then again I'm also in the camp that isn't super excited about taking on VC so..

What's so great about J-Rich anyway? He's one dimensional. He's a product of the Nellie system that produces so many fluke players over the years!

Rip on Vince all you want but he's the better player between them. We're talking miles here brah! We land him, we win the rings!

Of course. Just like how Ainge destroyed the Celtics franchise by adding 2 more stars.

Wake up and accept the reality: we're just one more star away from dominating every team in this league.

The celtics had nothing to lose, they didnt have money to lose, they didnt have Lebron James to lose, they sucked!

If we make a deal for VC we dont help our selves. He has a ridculous contract for his age and health. I would rather just let Wally expire. Yes, I would love to have VC on this team but its not the time right now.

Also why help out NJ, why should we help them clear space for LBJ?

IMO there is better options than VC, i.e Mike Miller.

VC would limit us from getting a Bosh or Wade in 2010.

Ya, well I wouldn't compare KG and Ray Allen to JRich or VC. If we were in trade talks with established vets willing to sacrifice anything to get a championship then I'd be all for it. However, we're talking about 2 guys that are really flashly, and cocky, and overpaid, and... Wake up and accept the reality: We've got LeBron James and a team full of determined selfless individuals.

J-Rich isn't at the top of my list, but come trade deadline and we strike out on other options, you snap this up.

Bosh and Wade are just dreams. It's possible but how possible? It's as if a Knicks fan hoping to get LeBron.

So you'd rather keep Wally? Danny isn't stupid and trade all the good players. Sooner or later Thorn is going to trade the VC for cheap.

I wonder what you guys will be ranting when LAL gets a hold of Vince. Ferry sitting on his thumbs again?

Im all for Raja Bell.

-Contract expires in 2009/2010
- Perimeter Defender
- Can still shoot and score
- Not young but not old(32)
- Could start or come off bench
-Good guy as far as teamate on and off the court

We would probally aqquire im some how in a 3-team trade.

How old was Ray Allen when the Celtics traded for him, 32, a year older than Vince is right now. His contract is an issue, but if the Cavs have 2 titles in the next two years would you be able to say his contract wasnt worth it? Also, there's a team option in 2011/2012, which basically makes him an expiring contract in 10/11, because no way anyone extends it.

In 3 years, VC will be the player Mike Miller is today, a guy that spots up and runs off screens, the only difference is Vince will be 34 then while Mike currently plays like he is 34. Mike Miller on the Cavs right now is a lateral move, they dont get any better with him and they dont get any worse, he's not an impact player, just a solid roleplayer.

As for Bosh and Wade? that has little to no chance of happening, the odds are about the same as Wilt Chamberlain rising from the grave and playing for the Cavs when Z retires.

You wouldnt compare Ray Allen to VC, how was his situation in Seattle any different than VC's situation right now? He was on a team that was going nowhere, he was a career loser basically, having played on more losing teams than winning teams. That didnt stop the Celtics from getting him and it paid off. LeBron is cocky and flashy too, big deal. It's great that LeBron is playing on a team full of determined selfless individuals, but this isnt College basketball, talent typically wins in the long run and while the Cavs are playing great the Lakers and Celtics still have more talent.

Id rather have ferry sit on his thumbs then trade for a 31 one year old with bad knees, naggind injuries, attitude problems, and with a contract that looks like this:

2008/09- 15,200,000
2009/10- 16,300,000
2010/11- 17,300,000
2011/13- 18,000,000

Why would the Lakers want Vince? And at what point in the last year has Ferry been sitting on his thumbs? Booooo on your arguments. They're bad news. Ferry, this past summer, traded Damon and Joe Smith in a 3-way trade and we got back Mo Williams. Thats ab ubreal trade. During the season last year, we trade all of our dead weight and get Delonte, Ben and Wally. Then in the draft we what appears to be 2 absolute steals.

You my friend need to put the xbox controller down. This isn't NBA 2k9.

We dont need anyhting more than that right now. We need a shooter and defender. We have a slasher(LBJ), low post scorer(Z), guy that distrubtes the ball well and creates off the dribble(Mo), and a lowpost defender and rebounder(Ben).

The one thing were missing is a great shooter and perimter defender. Mike Brown likes big guards.

And you cant judge Mike Miller hes been on all bad teams and has had all bad coaches. Hes not a teams top scorer. This team would the perfect team for him. Hes an excellant role player.

Excuse my redundant thoughts, as I've posted this in a few Richardson threads over the months, but I've seen the guy play A LOT and he's not what this team needs. If he could come in here and be comfortable with just fitting in, playing solid D, and being the 4th option, fine... however, judging by what I've seen, that's not going to happen. He's a chucker who gets his stats when absolutely nothing is on the line. At least Carter can be clutch sometimes. I don't want either, really, but Carter would be my choice by far.

If Wally goes, I'd much rather bring some youth in the frontcourt. I like what our backcourt rotation is doing. They're young and I think they can get even better on D. What we need is youth and depth at PF/C.

Wow. I don't even play 2k9. I don't even own a shitty 360. And all I said was what people will be saying about Ferry once a true contender gets a hold of Vince.

Why would a contending team like LA want Vince? Because he's talented and still got left in his tank. Same thing why Boston traded for Jesus and KG.

You can even forget LA. Just pick teams like Orlando and Detroit to have him and they'll be as good as us

Trade him for Wally. That's all some of us want here. We're not asking to give up any of the core players. You add Vince for firepower and keep other contending teams' hands off of him.
