Draft Trade Speculation and Rumors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm not sure what makes MKG worth the #1 pick. If he were that good you'd think Charlotte wouldn't be shopping him.

I disagree with that logic. By your logic, James Harden isn't that good because OKC shopped him.

I didn't say he'd be worth the No.1 pick, but I'm sure Charlotte is asking the Cavs for it if they're showing interest.

Let's not forget, MKG can be a very good player in the right system.. This system could help him succeed with a defensive minded coach, along with a playmaking point guard that can get him open looks.

I'm definitely interested, so should the Cavs, but it has to be for the right price.

depends on the cost but he's not a good fit for us unless he dramatically improves his shooting (he had a historically bad shooting year last year)

Historically bad? His overall FG% was 45.8% and he shot 74.9% from the FT line. 22% from three, but on 9 attempts. He's smart, an insanely hard worker, and a good defender. He can rebound and is a good finisher on fast breaks. He would be guarding the LeBrons, Melo's, and Paul Georges of the East when it comes to the playoffs. And him and Kyrie were high school teammates.

If the Bobcats are shopping him we should take a look. Only problem is, they would probably ask for Waiters in return which I wouldn't do. And the number 1 pick is too much. Maybe the 19 and a future first...Noel-TT-MKG-Waiters-Irving would have crazy defensive frontcourt potential and crazy good backcourt potential on offense.

Agree with everything you said, but Charlotte won't do it unless they nab the No.1 pick.. I just don't see how Jordan and company screw up that badly to give up on MKG for a late-teen 1st-rounder in this weak class.

Now if the Cavs send them a future pick with limited protection.. They may consider taking it.

They shopped James Harden because they were too cheap to pay him. Given that MKG is still only a year into his rookie deal and Charlotte doesn't have major cap issues going forward, which is why I find it incredibly hard to believe Charlotte is actually shopping him (let's face it...Kotoch isn't the best source for accuracy right now) unless they either 1) know something we don't or 2) have completely lost their minds.

They shopped Harden for money reasons. The comparison doesn't work.

I'm not the one making the comparison, I'm pointing out the flaw in his logic. His logic was being shopped=something being wrong.

Sorry for pointing that out?

Yeah and he was pointing out the huge flaw in your logic too.

Come on, really?

You made a comparison between Harden and Gilchrist, and it was a bad one as pointed out above. A better comparison would be Thomas Robinson, as he was a lottery pick that the Kings traded during his rookie year. His value has plummeted from the #5 pick that he once was. That's why I think either it's silly for Charlotte to ask for the #1, they aren't asking for the #1, or they're not shopping MKG at all.

Yes really. Chill out just because I refused to read more into someone's post that said "If he were that good you'd think Charlotte wouldn't be shopping him."

And using T-Rob as an example to back your claim up isn't dispositive because we have NO IDEA if T-Rob is good or not.

Using Harden only backs up my point. We don't know why MKG is getting shopped, and my point with Harden is that you can't assume that someone being shopped means they're bad. Just because it's not obvious that the trade is for monetary purposes (like Harden) doesn't mean that them being shopped definitively has to do with their ability.

I cannot see how you can't comprehend that.

I would give 19th this year, SAC's first, Heat's first, Grizzlies first, no TT or Waiters involved, or any other player except Miles, or Speights if he picked up his player option and maybe even Gee could be involved in that deal. MKG is way unfinished product in this league and i think Charlotte is stupid for shopping him.
