Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Well looks like the Warriors core will be able to stay together for the foreseeable future
I'll believe it when I see it. Remember no one cares more about his public perception than whiny ass Coward. He also probably knows that the average casual fan doesn't know what a max salary is. Likely a publicity stunt and he's likely talking about like a million dollars less which will Barry even help them

Durant isn't taking 15 million a year.

I hate them, but they realize their historical relevance will be determined by trophies and not career income figures.
To date Draymond is the only one who has actually sacrificed

All the other nerds have just talked about it to the media

Remember LeBron has even said stuff in the past like this and every time he takes the max

I wouldn't pay any mind to the words

There will come a time where Brown will be called on to make a difference. Let's hope it's the same outcome as always.
And when this moment arrives MB will have a flashback and yell "just give it to Lebron" maybe even "shoot it boobie!"

Oh it would be so great... :chuckle: and then watch GSW really implode after they realise their Interim Coach is more a Cav than a Warrior.... Minds fucked... :doh (17):

Thing is, Durant might not even lose any money with that pay cut. If he signs a smaller deal for the Warriors to be able to keep their core together, they'll continue to be a contender and this success might bring Durant even more money in form of endorsement & advertising deals. In other words, the pay cut may act as an investment.

So how many titles in a row will they win? 4? 5?

Pretty much killing all my interest in the league.

I honestly think we have a shot in 12 months if can have a good July/ August. It is going to take a lot of creativity persistence and high level recruiting from Lebron and kyrie but I don't think anything is for sure next year. We are 1-2 players away from being right with them. Hopefully we can add those guys.

Agreed, it's killing my interest too but a lot can change in the offseason, and remember everyone was saying the same thing about the Heat (although the Warriors are totally different animal, Miami were underdogs in half of their Finals appearances ffs)

We need to engineer one or two significant moves for me to watch any of the regular season next year. LeBron won't allow this franchise to stand still, A. because he's the best player in the world & B. He's 32 and the title window closes a bit more each year.

It's crazy we're saying this and we're fans of the second best team in the league. How do the other 28 teams feel? The players are essentially just playing for money, 82 games for absolutely no hope of achieving or competing for anything tangible.

Sorry guys, but this thread is 530 pages long so there is no way I'm going to dig for it. What is the contract situation for GSW players next year? I believe I remember Durant signing a 1 year deal and the Warriors WOULDNT have bird rights. Steph is on a VERY team friendly deal, IIRC...and I think his contract is up in 2018?

Curry is an UFA after the season. The Warriors have FULL Bird rights for him.

KD is an UFA after this season (he has a PO for next year). Based on the 2 year guarantee the Warriors provided last offseason the Warriors have "early Bird rights" on KD. Which means he can get a 20% raise without the Warriors needing to worry about the salary cap. He makes 26.54M this year and would be eligible for a 31.848M. Presumably he will sign another 1+1 (2nd year a PO). That way he is still guaranteed >63M and be eligible for a full max contract next offseason. He gives up ~3.5M next season for the Warriors to keep their team intact. He is eligible for 35% of 101M cap (35.35M). I made a post explaining this near certain eventuality the day after he signed last offseason.

Klay is under contract the next two seasons for 17.8M and just below 19M. Dray is under contract the next THREE seasons for 16.4/17.4/18.5.

West/Zaza/McGee/Barnes will need to accept min deals/room exc.

The only question is what they are going to do with Iggy/Livingston. Iggy could get some larger offers than the Warriors would like to pay. Livingston is an ideal PG for a lot of teams that create offense from other positions (Cavs/Bucks/Rox/etc) in that he can switch a LOT of positions. He could end up with a starting role and really hasn't ever made money (this is the most he has ever been paid at 5.5M) due to the injury and this is almost certainly his last chance at a larger contract (turns 32 before opening day in the fall).

Any significant salary issues will not occur until Klay becomes a FA and that is well down the road.
