Man, it sucks that Kyrie wanted out. With GS banged up, we could have easily been the favorites. Now it's probably going to be tough to get out of the East. Even then, Raptors are probably our only competition with Boston banged up.

I'd feel pretty good about our chance against the Rockets if our team wasn't so new. If we can stay healthy and develop some good chemistry through the playoffs, I'd take that though. I still can't tell how good we actually are, but circumstances have opened the door for us to have a chance.

It’s a tough call regarding Irving. I believe the team as is, is much stronger than if we didn’t trade him. But without knowing who we could have added to last years team to improve our chances will always be an unknown factor. I suppose Frye’s contract and our 1st held enough value to improve . A big would be a huge need, back pg and firepower sg. Hills defense and potential to heat up does reduce the loss of Kyrie somewhat.

I don’t see GS making it out of the 1st round without Curry. Nobody to run the offense. Thompson is a stiff who doesn’t dribble. Green is an overrated punk, on any other team he’s a nobody. Durant is little bitch who will crumble under pressure. Iggy is toast. Yup , I’m calling it. Even NO might have a chance, Davis is a load that GS has no answer for and 3-4 guys who have the potential to light it up. I’d prefer any other team but it would be cool to see Davis body slam Durant a few times .

Okc still only a game and a half up on 7.

If they play GS without Steph, there's a decent shot they can beat them.

Think Utah can too. Super long shot, but a shot.

Give no shot to SA without Leonard, New Orleans without Boogie, and Minny without Butler.

But still, Durant is the best player walking into a series against any of those teams, and Thompson and Green still exist. They'll be favorites.

But OKC round 1 would be a nightmare for them.

With that said , I wonder if OKC would try to position themselves to play GS in the 1st round. If they have real intentions of reaching the finals , discarding a Curryless team would be much easier than facing them later on after Curry returns .

Anyone else think GS'' young players really aren't that good? Cedi and Ante have been much more impressive in their opportunities than the likes of Mcraw, Looney, and Bell.

It's hard to tell sometimes when everyone else is really good. Mcgee looks like a really good player sometimes because no one is bothered with covering him.

I think Houston has to be the favorite at this point.

Even if you think a healthy Golden State beats Houston, the odds of Golden State actually making the the conference finals have dropped enough that they shouldnt be favored to get out of the West.

If Kawhi and Butler can make it back soon that gives Golden State almost no easy series in round 1 without Curry.
 
I wouldn't bet on Kawhi coming back. The way those guys are talking about it to the media.... it's wild.
