Dream Team 4: Golden State Warriors

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's hard to tell sometimes when everyone else is really good. Mcgee looks like a really good player sometimes because no one is bothered with covering him.

I like Bell the best

Bell may well be "Baby Draymond," but that's hardly a compliment given how much of a step the lesser #23 has lost this year. Rookie or not, I remember Kevin Love having a field day largely against him on Christmas. That said...damn the Bulls for giving them the chance to get someone who could be special in the future, maybe even special enough that they let Dray walk.

When Shaqtin landed on Curry, the Bay finally got out of denial of what everyone else in the world knew, that McGee's a clumsy oaf, albeit one who still outplayed Tristdashian last year.

Dubheads finally experiencing the shoe being on the other foot with these ill-timed injuries...

If Golden State plays OKC in the first round without Curry I really think that they will lose.

Melo, OKCs bench and SG rotation have been inconsistent this year. Think they would make it a series because of their defense, but they would need someone like Adams to step up and dominate inside.

Would much rather a Kawhi led team beat them in the 1st round, it's a better story so it keeps the media happy :chuckle:

This ain't the same team we've seen the last 4 years. Not even close. They are vulnerable. VERY vulnerable.

Number 1, they don't have the same depth like they used to. Livingston & Iggy have been a shell of themselves the whole year. They look older and a step slower than in years past. Add to that the fact Iggy's knee's might not hold up.

Their young players (McCaw, Looney, & Bell) do not seem as reliable as in the past and have struggled quite a bit this year.

Is there any part of Omri Cassipi or Nick Young's game you fear?

Secondly, they've finally succumbed to the injury bug. I think the wear and tear of 3 straight finals has finally taken it's toll.

Players who've played in the last 3 finals:

Steph, Klay, Draymond, Iggy, and Livingston (5 in top 8 of rotation)
Bron, Tristan, JR (2 in top 8 of rotation)

Comparably, we've turned over the majority of our roster that made it's run the last 3 years. In essence we should have fresher legs and less mental fatigue.

Lastly, in Houston they will finally face a worthy opponent en route to the finals. Houston has had their number all year. They're hungrier - they're healthier - and they have home court. They could even get challenged in the first round without Steph. I could easily see them playing in an extended series each round.

I hope LeBron smells blood this post-season! I feel like we have a prime opportunity in front of us. I just hope we can put it all together in time!

OKC almost there.

It's too bad Carmelo sucks. If they just had a nice, defensive PF who has a little range they'd be a dangerous team. Aka, if they just had Taj Gibson.

This post is going to age horribly.

They're still one of the best teams of all time. We have to pray for a Thunder matchup round 1 without Curry. Other than that Houston is the only team that can beat them. The Cavs have like a 3% chance if role players get hot out of their minds

The pendulum has swung too far the other way. You guys are setting yourselves up here.

Ugly scene in Sacto, McCaw left on a stretcher from an injury in what looks to be a scary, scary back breaking injury.

Carter committed the foul and is in tears.

I'm going to say McCaw's season is over.
VC didnt look exceedingly malicious... but he should have known better

Nah, fuck that.

Draymond should know better than to not purposely kick people in their fucking nuts and he still does it. Zaza should know better than to step under shooters feet and he still does it.

The Warriors are a dirty team. I'm not gonna shed any tears that someone makes a questionable play against anyone of them.

Find me some audio of the prick Kerr cussing out Zaza or Draymond for being dirty, what goes around, comes around.

Kerr was angry with Carter for his role in McCaw's fall, but as the severity of the situation became more apparent, Kerr came on to the court and consoled a visibly shaken Carter as they looked on at McCaw.

"I didn't see a replay," Kerr said. "Vince felt horrible. I was out there next to (Carter)."

Following the game, Carter walked over to Kerr and the Warriors' coaching staff to further apologize.

Carter, the league's oldest player at 41, described the play as a "freak accident" and had the backing of at least one Warriors star.

"I know Vince's spirit and heart. I don't believe it was intentional at all," Kevin Durant said. "It looked like he was just caught in the middle of the play and wanted to move out of the way, but Pat was coming so fast. It was just an unfortunate play. Nobody in our locker room thinks Vince did that on purpose."

Xrays and a CT scan came back clear (so, no broken bones) but he is going to have an MRI to determine any soft tissue injuries. He had lost some sensation in his leg, but it has come back. Maybe he will be fine after all.

It wasn’t malicious at all. He barely even brushed him and was trying to duck out the way when he realized he couldn’t make a play on the ball.

It was a freak accident. If McCaw had fallen a little differently this wouldn’t even be a topic of discussion.

I watched this video several times. I 100% believe Carter had no malicious intent. With that said, it sure didn’t look like a basketball play. I honestly never seen anyone do what Carter did. What was he trying to accomplish ?? Why not face up with arms out? Why not try to take a charge ? Carter has play basketball forever, his natural instincts should of known what was going to happen. I think he realized that as well seconds afterwards . This looked like a ymca move, to lazy or worried of direct contact . May be a good reason old dudes shouldn’t be playing at this level.

When he realized he couldn’t make a play ? He could have easily made a play, instead he choose not to for whatever reason . I believe Kerr’s 1st reaction was correct. Vince does know better and had a complete brain fart. How can he not know he was creating a hurdle for McCaw to jump over ? He walked right in to his path and half ducked . Instead he could have faced up or grabbed him or just not walk in his path .
