I would be shocked to see this guy ever come over the CAVS after 3 years of waiting and him showing little production in a weaker league. Trade his rights if even for a bag of chips it would be better than nothing ( like the last 3 years ). Close the book on this Grant so we don't have to talk about him every year.
I completely disagree. You do realize that we only paid a half opened bag of chips for him. We sent some cash over to Seattle for their late 2nd round pick. All we can lose is that cash we spent back then. You keep him and include him as a sweetener if any GM is interested. You don't just dump him because, at this point, it really isn't costing you anything to retain his rights.
The Cavs have already invested. It's like buying "penny" stock. You sink the money in initially hoping it will go up in value. If it never goes up, then, all you can lose if that initial outlay because it was at it's lowest value already. You hold on to it until it improves in value or simply goes away. That's what the Cavs should do here. If he never comes over, then all we lost was some cash invested a couple of years ago. If someone actually has interest in him, and it helps complete a deal, then you trade him. Otherwise, you sit and wait to see if your investment ever matures and pays dividends.
