Fast Food

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What do you young bloods know about the Wendy's Superbar?

It was around when I was a kid in the late 80s. Long story short, part of my weekend every fall involved my dad dropping me in a dicey Wendy's on the near West side of Cleveland for an hour with five bucks while he took care of some stuff... and there was a glorious all-you-can-eat salad bar. But there was so much, much more than salad... it was like all their best stuff aside from burgers and fries. I don't know what was in the Wendy's chili sauce packets, but it was 80% spicy animal renderings.

Once they did away with the salad bar, I had to do a frosty and burger or some shit like that... but peak Wendy's was the all you can eat fast food calorie binge.

Apparently KFC has buffets at certain locations. My roommate in college and his friends from high school went crazy when they spotted one. It was basically everything but chicken strips and potato wedges. I still get made fun of till this day for not getting the buffet because I wanted chicken strips and potato wedges.

I love it when a fast food franchise goes rogue with a buffet. There's a Round Table Pizza near me that is always empty. They are a below average pizza delivery joint, no reason to ever dine in. However, they went rogue and put in a salad and pizza buffet with pitchers of Bud Light. I might just get the buffet and chug straight from the pitchers with my shirt off until they threaten to call the authorities.

I always thought Pizza Hut used to have a pretty solid lunch buffet back in the day (is this still a thing they do?), mostly because I'm fairly certain the dusting on the breadsticks is actual crack.

I feel like restaurants in college towns do all you can eat or buffets more often than other places. I can remember in college once a week the Skyline chilli, LaRosas, Donatos, and Cassanos all had some sort of all you can eat or buffet. That was on top of the pizza hut, Chinese restaurant, and KFC that had a buffet at lunch everyday.

I liked going to Pizza Hut buffets but it's one of those things you have to carve out a good hour for unless you are just fine eating the random pizzas that no one else wants. They always seem lazy putting out more pizza that everyone likes.

Honestly, I could have just gone and eaten the fucking breadsticks.

I used to smoke bongs with my college buds and hit the Chinese buffet. They would bring out crab legs every half hour or so. One of these places recently made the news. I only included the first paragraph... fun read:

COURTESY OF HUNTSVILLE POLICE
A full-on brawl broke out at a Huntsville, AL, restaurant Friday after two very hangry diners could not agree on who was first in line for the fresh boiled batch of crab legs. Local police officer Gerald Johnson was dining at Meteor Buffet when he says the pair, identified as Chequita Jenkins and John Chapman, began tossing dishes and wielding tongs as sword-like weapons.

They suck. We don't do any noteworthy burgers etc, we just do Mexican stands etc instead.

We have a jack in the box on every corner and it's the worst of all fast food. It's actuslly infuriating bc they could have put in something good like a Wendy's or rallys etc and it's just more garbage

Fucking Rally's, there is an under rated burger. Also there is a place called Freddy's. The best is still Swenson's in Akron, but that doesn't really count. Whattaburger is pretty good too, also Culvers makes a good burger.

Yeah, Culver's is solid, and they have cheese curds! There's one just over the border in South Carolina and I try to hit it up on occasion when I'm down that way. It's near the SC liquor store I like to shop at.

Agree on Rally's, but there aren't any of those or Checker's (which is the same thing I think) anywhere within a reasonable drive. Used to go there in college a lot. Great burgers and awesome fries.

I like getting the big box from pizza hut every once in a while. The medium pizza is square and it's the closest thing to the taste and texture of the personal pan pizza. Then you get bread sticks and cinnamon sticks which are just dessert version of breadsticks. Basically it's just a big box of different versions of bread.

I still like Rally's but their quality of meat and ingredients have progressively gotten worse thru out the years. I didn't really notice it because it was a slow drop but Ive had alot of people go back after not having it for years and point out that it's just not as good.

I haven't eaten there since before I moved here so it's been at least eight years or so.

I just had a few when I visited Ohio for Xmas and it was as good as ever. The location was set up more like a smash burger than a Dennys but it tasted like it ever did
