Goodbye Larry Nance Jr.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That's a very poorly written article.

The writer is talking about the maximum legally possible - not what is actually being discussed. That becomes clear when you check on his only source - a linked Joe Vardon article from June.

In other words...don't worry.

He said that according to Vardon the Cavs are working on a 3 year 72 mil deal.

It's most likely false, but for my own sake I don't wanna see that figure even close to that.

Vardon's article didn't say that though

Yup.

Perfect example of why lawyers are so skeptical of everything we read. The only reason this guy was busted was because he actually linked the Vardon article, and we could see the error. But many times, media reports are just a more sophisticated version of the "telephone" game.

Writing articles based on articles is also weird unless you just have a different interpretation of events.

Yes, although in the end, it still boils down to the same thing - trusting someone to report correctly something they observed, heard, or read. Hell, people get shit wrong all the time even when they are trying to tell the truth.

That's why you shouldn't ever truly trust a paraphrase of what someone said. Always look for the actual quote.

I like Larry, but, man, I really hope the Cavs don't give this guy $10+ mil a year.

I’d give him 8-11M per year. Ankle sprains happen to everyone. So far no mention of the dreaded “high ankle sprain” so hopefully they just take it cautious with him and if he misses a game or two to start the season, so be it.
