Happy 60th Birthday To The GOAT.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I mean LeBron wore his number, wears his logo on his jersey, butchered a remake of his LEGENDARY Space Jam....

No Jordan, no LeBron.

Scientific fact!
Lebron always has been a front-runner.

Players Michael Jordan prevented winning titles or adding more to their résumé on his watch.

Magic (6th)
Drexler (got his when MJ was just coming back from playing baseball)
Barkley
Kemp
Payton (got his a decade later in Miami)
Malone
Stockton

Not to mention prevented Ewing & Miller & and that great 98 Heat team with Mourning & Hardaway) as well as Shaq & Penny from getting one on his watch… In the conference finals..

Seriously if you give Ewing or Malone/Barkley just one ring like KG or Dirk has—- their legacy and narratives are completely altered…

These are hall of famers..

LeBron has done similar to guys like

Duncan having 6
Durant having 3
Curry & Thompson having 4
Jimmy Butler having 1

And in the conference finals
Jokic
KG/Pierce/Allen
Paul George
Derrick Rose
Billups

These players have either their only championship or multiple championships going through a LeBron team.

Duncan got 2 off him
Parker got 2 off him
Ginobili got 2 off him
Durant has 2 off him (his only rings)
Jason Kidd got 1 off him (his only ring as a player)
Dirk got his only ring off him
Curry has 3
Thompson has 3

And ultimately KG/Paul Pierce/Ray Allen got their first rings going through a LeBron team…

You can say Isiah Thomas got his going through MJ, that’s fine…

Olajuwon got his when Jordan was retired and just coming back…

Mj prevented the Cavs from winning it all as well multiple times perhaps…

Both are great players — Jordan altered more legacies for the worst… He prevented more all time greats from becoming champions many times…. LeBron has altered a few legacies as well, but many current or future hall of famers also got theirs going through him…

Say what you want about what is or isn’t fair— to me Jordan is the GOAT….

Bulls winning 54 the year after he left the first time doesn't help his case.

He's still probably best by a hair, but Cavs lost an extra 30 both times lbj left
The moment LeBron breaks the points record there are no arguments against LeBron being better than jordan

Also something which would shatter lebron's argument that MJ pundits leave out... MJ fucking left the sport for 2 years. Can you imagine if LeBron left the NBA to go play Canadian football for 2 years, holy shit we would never hear the end of it.

By the time LeBron hangs it up he will be #1 in points, #4 in assists, and probably top 25 in rebounds. And either 1 or 2 in win shares.

I really don't have either one ahead of the other.. mj has a better story, LeBron has higher ts and usage, mj had more moves.. mj had worse competition but less restrictions on defense back then. Mj better defense, LeBron better longevity.

I do think they're the best there's been, but I don't have a clear cut winner

Who said anything about lebron? My top 10 looks like this:

10. Jerry Stackhouse
9. Michael Jordan
8. LeBron James
7. Ervin Johnson
6. Paul Pierce
5. Kareem
5. Milt Palacino
4. Larry Bird
3. Daniel "Boobie" Gibson
2. James Harden
1. Kobe

Whether he's #1 or #2 is up for debate. That said, Chicago has 6 total championships, & we all know who's the primary reason for them.
Those teams were built on their big men...

The 1st three rest on this man's shoulders

The next three on his...

Not enough Paul Pierce

Bill Cartwright had the ugliest functional jump shot in NBA history.

The Bulls were mediocre, until Pippen showed up.

The Cavs made The Finals and won 60 games twice, with LeBron and a bunch of JAGs. There’s your GOAT.

No!

Pippen was drafted in 87.

Bulls won 50 games without Pippen starting a single game his rookie year and putting up less than 8pts….

When he became a starter his 2nd year they won less games than Pippen’s rookie year— Horace was still more impactful.

Now when Phil came aboard as head coach in ‘89 Jordan was hitting his prime and Pippen became a starter in his 3rd year, he and Horace became consistent contributors and Cartwright in his 2nd season there found his groove too….

But none of this when Pippen got there the Bulls became good BS —cause it’s a false narrative….Horace Grant had a bigger impact as a rookie & 2nd year player…. Pippen started to out perform him in year 3 (barely) — but that’s when the Bulls started to take off— along with having Phil Jackson begin his journey too….
