George Hill can be a starting PG on a Championship level team.
But he can't be your secondary ball-handler.
That was the case with Pacers as well. Pacers had PG and Lance handling the ball a lot more than Hill.
agreed, I'll even go as far as to say we should have kept I.T. That way going into next season we'd have possibly:
I.T
Lebron
Love
Pick or veteran allstar
I believe IT would have just gotten surgery like he did with the Lakers after he realized he wasn't going to get the huge contract he wanted.
The problem with trading for Hill is magnified by Clarkson's poor play. A competent backup PG could reduce Hill's load in bad games and even make up for poor play at the SG position when Hill is playing well.
don't think so, he only has gotten it because their season ended. He would not miss the chance to prove himself to Celtics.
Apart from health, there's no way IT could perform worse than Hill.

LMAO. Hill isn't perfect but he is easily a level higher than IT.
Both in terms of performances and height.
Hill is one of the stiffest PG’s I’ve ever seen at the NBA level. And it’s weird because he has decent athleticism, it’s just his quick twitch agility (moving laterally specifically) is really poor offensively. He’s such a straight line player he’s very easy to defend.
And it hurts terribly on Pick and Roll because unless he sets the screen and gets a wide open 3, he’s really bad at getting the screen and putting any pressure on the defense.
He was really bad in Sacremento this year, and the Cavs significantly overvalued what he could do here next to LeBron.
We can't expect much Hill. Dude was barely playing on the Kings. Yet we want him to ball out on our team. I'm tired of the Cavs picking up scrubs. Where is our scouting department?
He's gone from making 1.8 threes per-36 on 45% shooting in Sacramento to 0.9 threes per-36 on 30% shooting in the playoffs. That's what's really been killer. I think everyone assumed we were at least going to get good shooting and defense, and then if he could be a reliable secondary creator that would be icing on the cake.
This is where I am at. He was this lauded 3 pt shooter and he shot well every game the Cavs ever played against him. What is the explanation on how bad his shooting has been.
When I see him airball which is not unusual I am like "He was really a 40% shooter?" There is no explanation.
