True, but they do probably view themselves as being a piece or 2 away, even though they aren't.

But Hickson makes zero sense for them unless they want to piss off Amare again and play him out of position or they see JJ as an undersized center himself.

I thought they wanted Casspi not JJ. Did I misinterpret?

Me too. I thought the Knicks and spurs were both interested in Casspi. I also think that is one of the reasons we may have settled a little on the protection issue...

I thought they wanted JJ, Casspi makes even less sense with carmello there.

Melo has to sit on the bench for a rest sometimes. Plus they could get away with playing Casspi at the 2 for a few minutes a game. Or Melo at the 4 for a few minutes.

I voted B right when the poll was started and after thinking about it for a few days, I would still vote B. Of course I am a bit bias due to my dislike of JJ since the first time I seen him play and Casspi looking like a nice prospect the first time I seen him play.

Although being an engineer I can get enamored with stats, when it comes to b-ball I still can't place them over how I feel when I see a guy play. JJ doesn’t have any IT, not that Casspi will, but I see a ton more poe in him than I do JJ to become a contributor to a winning team. I guess we will see…

While we're talk Knicks, I still can't believe the Knicks passed on Chris Singleton in the draft. Seems like he would've been perfect for them.

Really? You're surprised the Knicks passed on a great defensive player who can't shoot? That doesn't fit with the New York.

I’m always thinking of balance. :chuckles:

Although they did draft defense, just not at a position where they needed it considering they already have Landry Fields.

I thought Faried would have also been a nice pick for the Knicks. His size probably scared them away though.

Here was Marc Stein's Twitter message about the Knicks' and Spurs' interest in Casspi.

3:30 AM on July 4th. Starting to sink in that NBA free agency ain't just tardy. Hickson-for-Casspi might have to hold us over for a WHILE

PS: Word is Knicks/Spurs still hot for Casspi and checked in to see if they could wedge their way into last trade fun of 2010-11. But ...

Cavs told 'em they traded for Casspi with intent to keep him. GM Chris Grant says Cavs have liked Casspi since Kings drafted him in 2009

Here's J.J. a couple days ago. All I can say is that I would like to hope so! :chuckles:

grind mode now to take Sac back to the playoffs! already like the team being built in Sac #kings #impactbball

That's the spirit JJ! haha That team is a bunch of head cases right now...it will make an interesting story from a Cavs POV throughout next season. (If there is one)

With all the hype surrounding Jimmer, I just don't see him being a successful NBA player. I may be wrong, as A lot of other players with his skills, and lack of defense have made a name for themselves in the league, I just don't see it with him. I feel like the Kings will need help from all of their players to make the playoffs next year.

I think Jimmer has a good chance at being successful in the NBA, but i think it all depends on whether or not he is Ben Gordon 2.0, or if he actually tries to be a facilitator.

Jimmer is going to be a very good NBA player.

Mo Williams probably isn't a bad comparison for him actually. He's stronger than Mo, but has a similar game and will probably put up similar numbers.

I just don't see why people doubt the guy. He has a solid mid-range game, can hit from deep, and gets to the basket much better than people think. Yeah he's not that explosive, but the guy uses his body to score as well as any PG/SG I can think of in recent times.

He's probably going to come right in and put up a minimum of 13ppg and 3 apg and he's going to do it on something like 42%/38%/85%. I just don't get why it's going to be a shock to some people when he does it.

Long term, if the Kings stay shitty...he's probably a 17ppg, 5apg 45%/40%/90% guy. Again...very similar numbers to Mo.
