Hollywood scandal

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No one believed Harvey Weinstein was morally superior to anyone. It wasn't a secret as to what was going on within Hollywood circles. Actors and actresses knew he was a scumbag.

All of Hollywood?

Just to be clear Ty, you are specifically referring to the racism that you don't think exists?
Harvey Weinstein once claimed: 'Hollywood has the best moral compass'

"Hollywood has the best moral compass, because it has compassion," Weinstein told the newspaper at the time. "We were the people who did the fundraising telethon for the victims of 9/11. We were there for the victims of Katrina and any world catastrophe."

FLASHBACK: Actor Corey Feldman Tried to Warn About Hollywood's Pedophile Problem and Was Mocked

Back in the 1980s, Hollywood teen idols Corey Feldman and Corey Haim appeared in several films together and were known as the "Two Coreys." In the 2000s, they were even in a television series together with the same name. Sadly, Haim passed away in 2010 following a drug overdose. Shortly after, Feldman became outspoken in his theory that the sexual abuse the two of them received at the hands of Hollywood producers and actors had in part caused Haim's descent into addiction.

In a video unearthed by the Daily Wire, back in 2013 Feldman appeared on an episode of "The View," where he once again claimed to have been the victim of sexual abuse for years. For saying this, then-host Barbara Walters accused Feldman of "damaging an entire industry" with his claims. Walters appeared to dismiss Feldman outright.

Watch the absurd exchange below:

I mean, really? This is absolutely not how a survivor of sexual abuse should be treated. While claims of pedophile rings preying on famous child actors may seem like something from a conspiracy theory website, in light of recent revelations about Harvey Weinstein, they're more than just a little plausible now. And given that seemingly everyone in Hollywood knew for years about Weinstein's predatory nature, it's mind-boggling how Walters, a seasoned industry professional, can respond so callously to Feldman's very serious accusation.

The events of the past week have shown us that the entertainment industry should take a long look in the mirror before attempting to move forward. Fame isn't worth the cost of people's dignity.

Elijah Wood: There's A Powerful Pedophile Ring Operating In Hollywood

Movie star Elijah Wood says there is "a darkness in the underbelly" of Hollywood that involves a ring of pedophiles who "prey" on child actors.

Wood, most famous for his role as Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, started his career as a successful child actor in such films as Radio Flyer and Forever Young, so his insight into the reported rampant pedophilia amongst Hollywood's movers and shakers carries considerable weight.

Wood told The Sunday Times, he was lucky because his mother protected him immensely, but that many other child actors are continually "preyed upon" at parties by powerful industry figures adding that, "I've been led down dark paths to realize that these things are probably still happening."

"You all grew up with Savile – Jesus, it must have been devastating," he said. "Clearly something major was going on in Hollywood. It was all organized. There are a lot of vipers in this industry, people who only have their own interests in mind. There is a darkness in the underbelly – if you can imagine it, it’s probably happened."

The Savile Wood is referring to is Jimmy Savile, a the longtime BBC television personality who abused over seventy women, girls, and boys during his career, including some as young as 10 years old.

According to TheTelegraph, Wood said the abuse continues because those being preyed upon "can’t speak as loudly as people in power."

"That’s the tragedy of attempting to reveal what is happening to innocent people," he said. "They can be squashed but their lives have been irreparably damaged."

Woods added that, "If you’re innocent you have very little knowledge of the world and you want to succeed. People with parasitic interests will see you as their prey."

Corey Feldman, who made his name as a child star in such blockbusters as The Goonies, Stand By Me, and The Lost Boys, said publicly that, "The No 1 problem in Hollywood was and is - and always will be - pedophilia."

Feldman blames an unnamed Hollywood mogul for the drug overdose death of his best friend and child actor co-star Corey Haim, who he says was sexually abused as a kid. Click below for Feldman shocking Barbara Walters and the other hosts of "The View" with his chilling allegations...

The Damon/Affleck ticket just took a huge hit...

You think?

It just seems like with huge celebrities, they take these hits and then get right back into the spotlight and people treat it like it never happened. Just like professional athletes.

Kennedy and Clinton style.

Barbara Walters is scum for that.

Why isn't anyone naming names of these Hollywood pedos? Even anonymously at least?

I'm glad Weinstein at least got named. Perhaps this will start some kind of domino effect. I'm honestly much more concerned about kids being victimized than grown women, though both are obviously horrible.

...Ty, I have an honest question for you here: why does your posting in this thread read like a conservative litany against Hollywood, calling out a hypocrisy that obviously exists, while dismissing the calls Hollywood has made against society for it's obvious flaws? In other words, why does it seem that there is a great deal of politicizing the rape and abuse of these actors and .. children .. in an effort to push a conservative narrative?

You said the other day you're a centrist - okay, fair enough; so why does it seem like you're posting right-wing media talking points (see your last post from PJ Media/Roger L. Simon)?

Is this a Hollywood scandal? Yes... But why try to politicize this instantaneously? You really think this is a liberal vs conservative issue?
The left is notorious for politicizing tragedies at the drop of a hat. When they do it, it's supposedly because they truly care about victims. Now the shoe is on the other foot and suddenly the right shouldn't be so quick to bring politics into it. Sorry, but what's good for the goose is good for the gander. If the self-righteous left weren't so douchey and political about EVERYTHING, then maybe now they wouldn't have nearly as much egg on their collective face.

This just intensifies how gross the past election was. This shit is no secret, yet Hillary was chummy with him? I mean, the donors for these candidates are pretty vile humans. She had a house next to him in the Hamptons...

Weinstein has long been a top Democratic donor and during the 2016 campaign he served as a key bridge between the Clinton campaign and the wealthy world of Hollywood stars.

Throughout Clinton's political career, Weinstein helped raise around $1.5 million for Democrats and associated groups by bundling donations, according to data from the campaign finance-tracking Center for Responsive Politics. Clinton also headlined multiple fundraisers hosted by Weinstein.

The two were also personally close: In 2015, the Clintons rented a home next to Weinstein in the Hamptons.

Let's .. just play this out for a second, shall we?

Rosario Dawson comes out and says "Systemic racism exists in America; We need Universal Health Care for All; College tuition should be free at state schools."

Now, she's obviously on the "Collective Left," and within Hollywood. So, the retort to her now is "You're responsible for the rape of 11 year old Corey Haim, so don't talk about these liberal issues?"

...

Does that make any sense at all? I mean, politicizing rape? And using these incidents and this problem within Hollywood to shout down left-wing causes?

That just doesn't make sense to me man...

Hillary Clinton is scum... Like, in the worst way. But I dunno if I would say that renting a house next to Weinstein contributes to her actually being scum. If anything, it was likely helped by Weinstein himself who is known for shmoozing with Democratic officials.

p.s.
This is one of the primary reasons we need to get money out of politics!

I'm just furious at how easy it should be to recognize that both Hil & Don are trash, yet there are significant factions of folks unwilling to accept any criticism of either.

/rant

Believe me, I got shouted down just the other day about my criticisms of Hillary Clinton as the next Joan of Arc.

Fucking bitch implied I was a sexist... can you believe that shit? :chuckle:

(the above is a joke, but.. she seriously did try to call me a "Bernie Bro")

When Hillary's husband did that same kind of shit Weinstein did to other women, she told them to shut their cakeholes and deal with it. She's scum.

Donald should have laid into her and Bill far harder than he did during the campaign.
