If we had 2 high picks in 2012, who would you want?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Buck Farnes, let us get Drummond.

Barnes is going to wreck havoc this year. Bank that.

He might score points, but he'll do it in an awkward, stiff way that doesn't translate to NBA success as a scorer at the SG position.

Hope the Cavs don't touch that dude. Many other options where they should be picking.

I've seen the term "stiff" many times in sports. No other time has it applied more than it does with Harrison Barnes. His movements literally look stiff. It looks like he has a stiff spine which prevents anything from looking smooth or athletic. Really weird.

So basically, the same fucking knocks on Paul Pierce... k.

I could care less how a player looks, as long as he is effective. Have you watched this mop-haired fool running around with a Cavaliers jersey the past few years?

If all guys look like top prospects at the end of the year, I would just love to grab Barnes, Rivers, or Drummond. I would be ecstatic with Drummond, especially with the way everyone is talking about this guy right now. http://www.nbadraft.net/players/andre-drummond

Irving, Thompson, and Drummond would we a very solid core. It would also be great to get some real size on this team, especially with some undersized PF's. Image if we grabbed Drummond, and best case scenario, Irving develops into a Chris Paul/ D. Williams caliber player, Thompson develops into a Josh Smith type player, and Drummond develops into a D Howard type player. That's a solid team.

And Eyenga as the second coming of Bruce Bowen. Maybe a bit too optimistic, but Cleveland does have a handful of players that can make a nice young nucleus if they develop properly. Intelligent, high character guys that have size and are willing defenders.

I think Harrison Barnes is the ideal pick for us right now. Irving/Eyenga/Barnes/Thompson/Varejao should be able to run with anyone and defend. That being said, I cannot wait for the day that Cleveland has a legit SG on their roster, it has only been what, 20 years?

Only if you're excluding Larry Hughes. :chuckles:

How could I forget the amazing Larry Bruise? My bad.

Pierce is nearly 25 pounds heavier, a lot stronger than Barnes (and most SF's who guard him) and has always had a knack for getting to the rack. Barnes has not shown anywhere near the ability Pierce has always had at getting to the basket. I won't necessarily disagree that Pierce can look a little stiff out there, but his footwork all over the floor is as good as any elite PF out there...much less the SF's that he overmatches night in and night out. And his footwork is just as big a part of why his pull-up and especially step-back jumpers are so deadly.

Harrison Barnes is not and never will be Paul Pierce. Paul Pierce is as under-rated as Harrison Barnes is over-rated.

Pierce is a good comparison though in that it's a guy who's game he should copy given his limitations.

Give me Drummond. I'd be perfectly content running out there with the best young center and best young PG in basketball.

General consensus seems to be that Drummond has the potential to the best center of ANY age in all of basketball.

No doubt about that. That kid is going to be a beast in this league.
